ES-DE: How to set up PSVita with Vita3k

In this video we walk through how to set up your psvita games folder in ES-DE so that you can launch games directly in Vita3k. The guide shows this set up on Android, however the same steps can also be used on all other devices where ES-DE and Vita3k are supported.
Make sure you have installed your games in Vita3k before starting this. This guide will not go through those details.

How did you get Vita3k to go full screen? On my Odin 2 the screen is cut on top and bottom. Thanks in advance.

for me fullscreen worked out of the box. sorry i cant be of more help there. it may be good to check with the vita3k team for questions about the emulator directly. ES-DE does not set or manage any emulator configurations.

would I be able to use this same method on a separate frontend like Beacon Launcher? Or is this exclusive to ES-DE? Beacon allows for custom launch commands, but I'm not too familiar with that

I imported the PSV game according to the method you provided, but every time I open the game from the front end, it will flash back. And I used a similar method to import PSV games in the front end of daijisho, and I can enter the game normally. Maybe my Redmi K40 mobile phone MIUI14.0.8 system conflicts with ES-DE and vita3k.

possible to double check the format of your .psvtia files? there should no spaces or linebreaks - just the id of the game on the first line of the file (no spaces and no line break after). thats typically what causes a psvita game to not open.

I used the same file editing tool in the video to create a file. After that, the Android side can open the game normally and no longer flashback. However, the flashback phenomenon has not changed after I imported the written file into the computer of Win11 system.​@@ES-DE_Frontend

Hey. I just finished doing this and it looks amazing! Now my problem is, my vita games won’t launch. Tried to go to “other settings>alternative emulators” but I can’t find for ps vita. Usually when I’m having a problem launching a system, this is my remedy. Any idea what did I miss? PS: games perfectly working on my vita3K app.

the reason you don’t see psvita in alternative emulators is because vita3k is the only emulator available. 2 things to try… make sure the folder name for psvita is all lowercase and make sure there are no line breaks in your .psvita files (everything should be on one single line in those files). also double check that the extension for the file is .psvita sometimes that can get changes without seeing it.

Playing the games through the shortcut works for me but for some reason the scraper isn't working to get the metadata. Any idea what's wrong?

best to check screenscraper.fr to see if they have metadata for the game you are trying to scrape. if the game exists there you can try to search for the it by name using the “refine” button if it doesn’t come up automatically

I'm using ES-DE on steam deck and I've got everything working and launching into the games just fine but how do i exit out of a game back to ES-DE once I'm done?

that will vary depending on the emulator being launched. you’ll need to research the options for exiting in each emulator as ES-DE does not configure emulator settings

Is there a similar way to do this for .cia games installed directly on Citra? I tried replicating this but no luck

es-de can not read the game of a micro SD card??? So all my vita games need to be in the internal storage in order to launch it from Es-De???

vita3k emulator requires games to be installed directly to its folder so that emulator cannot read games from the sd card. please check the vita3k discord or website for more info. its not something we can change from es-de. vita3k would need to support that.
