Thanks for this, I couldn't find an explanation of control panel anywhere, not even on esab manuals online. I am learning on these machines at college and the machine I tend to end up on has all defective lights /buttons except for the far right one below VRD. Maybe if I toggle it the rest of buttons will work?

Glad to hear this has helped. If the buttons are not lighting up it would suggest that the tactile display/screen unit has suffered a failure. I doubt toggling the VRD button will do anything. That should only change in stick mode anyway if I remember correctly.

5mm Aluminium is about your maximum thickness at 200A AC

Is the fan on these machines continuous turning?

No it comes on when you strike an arc and then switches off after about 5 minutes of stopping welding. Not quite fan on demand like other top end machines but better than continuously on. Remember this machine is the same technology since the 2000's, the design hasn't changed at all. Nowadays there are much better spec machines on the market.

@@I2YANx They're a professional level unit, more than good enough to learn on! The problem with these machines is they are not know to be as reliable as some of the other european machines. They are very expensive to repair when they go wrong.
