For years, every few months i'd get the urge to watch this again. Disappeared from youtube at some point, and the only copy I saw was low quality, but this promo is too good. And now here it is, redone and clearer than ever. I doubt a lot of people will come looking for this, but i'm very glad it's here. Well done and thank you.

Its kind of wild to think that there's actually several versions of Escaflowne. This is the OVA, there's the Anime, and then there's like 3 separate version of the Manga. As much as I like the Anime, the OVA is really the definitive version for me. Mainly because the Anime gets a bit long winded and lost in what it's try to tell.

"Sell me this anime. You've got 30 seconds" It's easily one of the best trailers ever made, because it hooks you up without telling jack or shit about the actual content - but you have a reason to check on your own in the same time. I consider Toonami's promos to be a lost art at this point, since every single trailer for past 15 or so years is just your regular clip and plot description. Same goes with the legendary, for years considered lost media trailer for "Eaters of the Dead" (ultimately released as "13th Warrior") - it gives the viewer the hook and the sinker, while making it like a fun thing to take the bait and watch the movie. It's like something weird happened by mid-00s and they've stopped trying to hook people into watching the stuff, instead simply telling what it is about.
