My grandmother lived not far from there, and in the late 1960's I used to kayak that thing in the spring and fish it in the summer. Kind of hard to imagine with the water as turbid as it is in this video, but it settles down into a gentle little crystal clear creek in the summer. Lots of brook trout, and some rainbows and cutbows. Nothing to write home about in terms of size, but they're plentiful. At least they were in the '60's. I don't know how they managed with the water like it was in the spring.

Love the POV vids, but a request to all boaters doing POV: Always look back up at a drop if you can. Looking down as you work your way through a rapid just doesn't do the vertical any justice. Looking back up really shows just how big of a drop you just went down. Also, that eddy surfing (first eddy river right at start of the lower gorge), that eddy line, ooof.

Great video. Thanks for reminding me what an amazing run that is. Definitely run the falls at that level! It’s not that hard and it’s the cherry on top as reward for the beating you’re about to take at the Wall when flows are up!

You're probably right, but man the falls are intimidating! Especially after a humbling beatdown in '57 chevy. Maybe next time...

good look at a rare river. Think I would prefer the sound of the river to the mexican elevator music, but the video was really nice, and a good edit.
