Kayaking the Piedra River - 2600cfs

Kayaking the Piedra River on 4/17/2023
The Piedra is a Gem of the Southwest located just North of Pagosa Springs, CO. There are a handful of Class IV rapids, with the most notable being Eye of the Needle. There are two separate sections, with the lower section (1st Box) being only accessible when the First Fork Road has opened, or by running the 2nd box upstream. We put in at Upper Piedra campground, where CR 600 crosses the river and ran both sections. Takeout 20 miles downstream near Lower Piedra Campground.
Main Rapids are labeled. Enjoy!
Flows between 2000-2600cfs on Arboles Gauge.

I think going straight down the tongue on Eye of the Needle, you would have been fine. It would have just pushed you through. Good video. Gald you kept the natural backround sound.
