Back in 2010 had a few nights in a tent at Calf Creek one of the best ever times in the States. Helped a guy who had a problem on way back to tent at lower Calf Creek Falls , hope he got home safe and is well. Would love to come back to this area but with the cost of flights etc from England think this is just a dream not sure if we could cope in a tent now 14 years older. Thanks Russ for bringing back the fantastic memories for us.

At 21:10 this is the route my Uncle and I took from Bryce Canyon to Capitol Reef in the summer of 1969. At the time this road was a 1 lane dirt road with very few wide spots for 2 vehicles to pass. Not many on this road back then and I can't remember even passing 1 car. On the right was a steep drop off with trees so dense you could hardly see through them. To the left was dense forest going practically straight up. To top it off it was pouring rain. We were in a standard Chevy station wagon. Now that I think about how dangerous that road was I now understand why my Uncle was sweating bullets. Memorable trip which included listening to the Apollo Moon landing on the radio while driving east through Colorado.

you rode12 at its best...i could see sweating bullets most of the way then... Going thru Boulder mountain was a boring long drive up and down and a lot of riding the brakes...

Ohhh yeahhh! I was really hopping you would fly the drone on the Hogback section. They designated scenic 12 as an All American Highway for a reason, so SPECTACULAR! Capital Reef is next, and then you have got to check out Hollow Mountain in Hanksville. It's a convenience store build into a huge rock. Great video😊!

It was like being on a rollercoaster, Russ, with the climbs and dips, and curves and twists. Neat to finally see some of the open-range inhabitants that wayside signage has warned about over the past few videos. Notice how Boulder Mountain's propensity for knocking moisture out of the sky took the terrain's foliage from waist-high scrub brush to full-blown forest? I could easily spend a year exploring every inch of the State of Utah...followed by Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada. A truly gorgeous part of the country, thanks for bringing it to us, Russ.

That wonderful ridge drive isn't "really" scary, but it really is one of the MOST scenic roads in America, I was hoping you'd fly the drone from the top out over Calf Creek Canyon on the North side. If you ever come through there again, and there's good reason to travel some roads in both directions in that country, be sure to stop and fly the drone. Calf Creek Canyon has a beautiful waterfall in it and is just one of many branch canyons off of the upper Escalante Canyon which ends at Lake Powell.

Used to drive truck. It amazed me how many drivers had no clue how to drive in the hills, let alone the mountains. And that included many semi-drivers. Don't downshift to use the compression of the engine... and ride the brakes ALL the way down the hills. And that isn't just out west. I-77 through West Virginia... I-68 through Maryland... and that doesn't come close to the U.S. and State highways (US322 at State College PA the speed limit for trucks down the hill is 25 MPH and a truck can get away from you real quick). I would hate to be in front of one of those rental RV's on a road like that!!! First pull-off I could find I'd let them go past!!! And I run a 34 foot motorhome pulling a Jimmy..............

In the early nineties on the way back from LA, I took that route off the 15 to the national parks and ended up on scenic 12 and when both sides of the road vanished, my Astro van with 6 kids and a wife all went nuts. That is the biggest road surprise I ever encountered and I have been many places, i could not wait for at least one side of the road to reappear.

I have a question, do you find having the filming distracting when you are doing these gorgeous drives, or did you concentrate on the driving and just trust the camera to capture the views? Yeah, I find I can get distracted when the views are gorgeous, and was wondering if a dash cam would help because I wouldn't feel the need to "Catch it All" in my brain camera.

Last year when we were on Highway 12 there were lots of rental class Cs. Most were Germans. I retired from a German auto manufacturer. I was thinking I drove 2000 miles to hear more German 😳😳. Your drive today brought back some great memories. You are right that should be on everyone’s bucket list to see.i stopped at same pull out with the restrooms. Took a picture of my Tundra with that great background. It was pretty cold and windy when we stopped.
