Thanks, since we had an outdoor shower hookup on our Casita it was a must, so that was the first mod, but we have a few more ideas that we are going to implement over the next few weeks

solid Fiberglass is the way to go. No leaking seams, no leaking roof...all the problems with a stick-built coach are gone. I think Escape is a fantastic coach and you will be very happy with it! If you want to go full-size, the Bigfoot is another amazing trailer.

We had a Casita for years and sold it. We definitely miss that trailer, but as we look at taking a long 4-6 month trip to western US, we need more space so I can work on the road. Considering the Escape 5.0 or 21’. Also looking at the Bigfoot 25, but it might be a bit too much trailer. Working remotely give so many options for travel, glad you are enjoying the opportunity!!

To epand the table to make a bed, you could fabricate a separate slide against board to match the original table side to side. Just store it elsewere .

Hello guys. I follow you on Insta. This video popped up. Had no idea you had a KZbin channel. I do like the Escape. I follow them too 😁. Did you say you’re towing the 19’ with a 4Runner? That’s what we pull our Casita with. I thought one would need a bigger tow vehicle to pull the 19’ Escape(?)

Hey! Happy you found our channel! We are towing the Escape with our 4Runner, and it is technically within the towing capabilities however the Casita is well below spec, so does provide the extra peace of mind.

Thanks, no doubt you must love your Escape. We’ve always been curious to see the 17 in real life. We are currently on the road for two months exploring the eastern US. I just stumbled onto your channel and enjoyed the tour of your immaculate new-to-you Escape 19. We picked up our 2022 5.0TA from Chilliwack BC this spring and enjoyed an epic trip across Canada to return it home to Ontario. For us it was a bit of a downsize but we're still impressed with its living space and incredible storage space; both inside and out. I'm so happy to see that there are more Escapes working there way into Ontario ... These trailers are amazing but somewhat rare in our part of the country. I look forward to hearing about your travels and modifications going forward.

That’s so awesome! We always get excited when we see an Escape in someone’s yard or pass one on the highway, but like you say it’s quite rare in Ontario. If you have any mods that you recommended please let us know. We’ve got a big trip planned throughout the US this winter that we will document on our channel, so we hope you keep watching.

@@md.adventures We haven't started any mods yet but we have big plans to convert a portion of the pantry into a coffee bar (We had our microwave installed in the cabinet space beneath the two burner cooktop). We did install a froli travel star sleep system under our mattress; for both comfort and air circulation; to prevent mold. We also purchased a large baker's cutting board from Amazon and installed speaker feet on the underside so it straddles the cooktop without contacting the glass top. It gives us so much more usable countertop space. Otherwise, we've been focusing on organizing our storage spaces. Soft packing cubes are great in the overhead cabinets above the bed. They also make moving clothing in an out of the trailer less time consuming. Looking forward to seeing your travels in the States ... Our baby is staying put this winter.

Thanks for the tour of the Escape. So many great features! I have an oven in my 19 ft. travel trailer, and I love it. I use it all the time. Have you used yours at all yet? I've baked everything from main dishes to cookies, biscuits, and all sorts of veggie side dishes. It is especially nice on cooler days. What did you decide to do about the table?

We haven’t used the oven yet. I was only told trailer ovens can be finicky and easily burn things but it sounds like you’ve mastered it. Any tips? As for the table we decided to leave it as is, however we have a big trip coming up that will allow us to really give it a good test.

@@md.adventures I just use an oven thermometer, and it works fine. I use smaller pans, etc. because the over is smaller than a house oven. I love baking in my trailer! Will check back on your channel to see what you decide on the table. Happy trails!

What MPG are you seeing? Been looking the Escape 19 and towing with a midsize SUV. Range is the biggest consideration (how much fuel to carry). Great walk through!

Hi, jay here. Great Video. My wife and I have a Casita and are looking to upgrade to an Escape 19. You mentioned that you had a 4runner as do we. I was wondering if your 4runner is a V8 or the 6 cylinder. Also the gas milage you are getting with your Escape..........Thanks for any help you can give me concerning my questions. jay

Our 4 runner is a 6 cylinder and we typically get about 16 mpg

Very nice trailer! 2 questions on the bed....1. Is the bed hard to make? 2. Who gets to sleep by the back window, and does that wake the other person up if one has to use the restroom? I had a queen bed in my Airstream. It was shoved to one side, so very difficult to make on that side. I make the bed everyday.....can't get into an unmade bed!

The bed is a bit challenging to make, and like you we make the bed every single day. Dave sleeps on the inside near the wall because he almost never gets up at night.

The Escape does have more interior height than the Casita. Dave is 6’2. In the Casita his head would slightly brush up against the ceiling, but that doesn’t happen in the Escape.

👍. 4Runner questions… How well does it tow this Escape? Vs the Casita? Did you have to add side mirror extensions? Do you have a trailer brake controller?

The towing is very comparable between the Casita and Escape. Fuel economy is almost the same. We have a mirror extension that we hook on the drivers side while towing. We also installed a brake controller on the 4Runner.

i think you bought the wrong Casita. We have a 2021 Spirit Deluxe, and have a permanent bed with a Southern mattress, and a permanent side dinette, which you could have used to work inside from. My Titan has a bed cover, and plenty of room to store outside items. The man who has the storage locker next to mine, traded his Casita for an Escape, as he wanted a dry bathroom. Good luck, but we will stay with the Spirit Deluxe.

We thought about the Spirit Deluxe. We have some friends who have that model so we were able to spend some time inside it, but the bed was too small for us. It’s a nice trailer though.

It’s an east to west bed, but my wife is very small. That Southern mattress is better than ours at home. My friend has a 21 ft Escape with the dry corner bathroom

Great tour of your new trailer. I'm very curious about your experience towing the Escape 19. I have basically the same 4Runner and I don't plan on changing vehicles. That said, my truck struggles when pulling a standard single axle box style travel trailer on open roads with crosswinds. My Winnebago 1700bh is about 3500lbs loaded for travel. The Escape 19 has been on my list as a potential next trailer. So, how has it been behind the 4Runner? How does the dual axle compare the single axle Casita? Thanks and safe travels to you guys!

The aerodynamics between a box trailer and a standard box size trailer a bit different so that helps. We use torsion bars for towing so that really helps with crosswinds. We have no issues towing at 110km/hr, and to be honest we haven’t noticed any substantial different between the casita and the escape.

We tow a 17 foot Casita with our 2018 4Runner as well as a 2012 Ram with the 5.7L engine. Comparatively speaking, the 4 Runner is barely adequate on steep grades, there is no excess power when towing with the 4Runner. On flat ground, the 4Runner does okay.
