It was my first year doing this race. Had an absolutely amazing time. I saw you throughout the race (jump from the boat, I was going up a hill on the bike and you were coming down, I was finishing the bike and you were finishing the run)- obviously way in front of me- but it was cool though. I know it doesn’t mean much from me- but your race was solid man. Hope to do it again and again and again for many years to come. You’ll be back on top before long. Thanks for the inspiration.

Ben's dad's answer at the beginning of the video is probably the best answer I've ever heard to any question ever.

Congrats to Eric, he looked really good, as did the rest of the podium. Hard races are learning experiences and as you said, it's part of the sport.

I rarely see things on videos from the pros that I can relate to, but I can certainly relate to having those days where you're just not sure why you didn't perform up to your potential. I'm sorry you had one of those kinds of days but it's nice to know I'm not alone. Thanks for posting.

It was inspiring seeing you and other pros on the race course. You can see why you are pro compared to most of us the armature athletes. Keep hammering

Such an awesome race Ben, getting in the ferry I found myself accidentally in the top floor where it turns out was the pro floor so my day was made just seeing you and Eric and Jason and Greg in person but being able to holler at you guys during the race while being in the same portion of it was wild! No excuses just your personal accountability showing up. Cheers

Super job. Any day you can make it to the Stage/podium is a great day. So many folks never make it up there. This is such a hard sport and when someone has a magical day they can be hard to beat. See you there next year.

Eric needed a win I’ve heard him say I’m worrying about all the things that can go wrong…… but that’s ok….. I mean I only see everything going perfect and me winning going into races….. so congrats to Eric and hopefully this changes his perspective on things going bad….. dudes a stud and should be thinking how he’s gona tear the course up and go after the top guys! My advice to you Ben…. Go all out man as your the guy to beat…. Training and In the race…. I look up to ya and your ability to swim…. I’ve never felt comfortable in the water! Keep your head up and think 🤔….. if you were at your best now you prob won’t be at your best late season! Keep progressing!

You are getting older, you don't need to swim, bike, and run everyday anymore. You have the endurance, it's just about maintaining power and speed.
@Steven-ko6ky2 жыл бұрын
Perhaps it's time to get some blood testing done, or maybe you just need a short break from training. Detraining the body now could set you up for a solid second half of the year. I also notice you seem to have one race tactic and that is trying to race from the front. Makes sense in these shorter distances, but makes me wonder if having a more conservative 70.3 bike plan would set you up for a stronger run. Anyways, I'm just throwing ideas out there and probably have no idea what I'm talking about. I have a feeling you'll crush the next one. Go get it man!

i dont know how you are not scared to swim in that water with all those sharks lmao
@danielmcparland1732 жыл бұрын
Simple case of overbiking perhaps? Riding too hard to stay with the leader hence fading at the end of the bike and struggling on the run
