Oh man, that quick shot of the girls studying in the camping chairs on adventures reminded us of our fam. We also homeschooled and have so many picts of the kids in camping chairs in Yosemite , Joshua tree, the beach, doing their studying. We homeschooled for the same reason, to be time rich. They both graduated early ( my daughter at 14 son at 16). The best experience ever. Yes the kids are both incredibly confident, competent and socially balanced and popular. Bravo !!

Remember - there is a lot more to Mexico than the Baja peninsula. The west coast of mainland Mexico also fronts on the Sea Of Cortez. It also allows for thinga like Sam's Club, Walmart, and American chains like Pizza joints and other Mexican chains. Help your family learn Spanish. Whether you continue on the Baja or if you explore the mainland you will use it.

Great video, guys and girls! Glad you finally found some warm weather...and fish...and bitter olives... and worms! I have to agree, your truck does resemble a Transformer! I'm impressed by the thought and planning that had to have went into this trip, especially in equipping the truck. It's like a small mobile fortress! It started out good, but you've made it even better with a few adaptations along the way! Looking forward to more vids. Stay safe and I pray you don't have to use that medical kit! God bless you all!

Cathy, and others just start an adventure yourself. Find peace in solitude , find a place to camp 3 hours from where you live, check the weather and go. Stay just one night. Then go home. Assess what you would need to do better. Add those things and go a little farther in two weeks. Do the same thing. Every trip will make you better at it.

I learned from making my own pickled olives a lesson. Mine pickled great but as they got older, they began losing their color. Then I was asked if I put some ferrous oxide in the brine? No, I did not. Ferrous oxide is iron rust. It diossolves in the brine when you cook it up. It causes the olives to retain their color. No added flavor, and I guess you get your daily iron suppliment that way too. Also, it is good to let them set for about two to three months. I found that the longer they set, the better they get. I've had some of mine set for over a year and they were totally awesome. Now, that sculpin. AKA Bullhead. The japanese make an awesome curry soup with it! And it is a great fish to eat!
