Honest to god, When everything is working like it should there is not a more enjoyable and immersive game on the market. HOWEVER You spend about 80% of your time chasing these moments because they do not happen often for most people. The way this game is built, it is VERY RNG based. Everything from spawns, different ammo having different % chances to do different shit, loot spawns, scav spawns, and yes the gun play is SUPER RNG even when its working. Now skill CAN play a factor in seasoned players like myself but for the most part this game has so many RNG elements that it does eat into player skill and create this fucked up grey area where even when you do EVERYTHING right you get sent to the gulag by the RNG simply not working in your favor. You might have better gear than your opponent. Might have them out skilled and out gunned too. You might dump 15 rounds into them and deal 400 damage to body and them STILL not be dead. To die yourself to the very first shot you take from some garbage ammo. You spend 30 minutes kitting out and sorting your stash and spend 2-5 minutes loading into a raid to get fucked by the RNG spawns. A good portion of this game is kind of like a slot machine. Your "skills" are all taken away from the player kind of, and your PMC automatically does stuff like control recoil WHICH recoil is RNG as well and sometime you just randomly get more violent recoil patterns for no reason. You get the picture about the RNG shit by now right? That all being said. You also gotta deal with the fact that this game from the ground up has been built like shit by dudes who never left the basement. This game has some of the WORST net-code you will ever see in a shooter along with some of the WORST player synchronization you will also ever see. Point blank you cant trust what your seeing in this game for shit. Where the opponent is on your screen can very well be not where he actually is on his side and this leads to ALOT of wonky gunplay where hits don't register frequently and when they do the hit boxes are so wacky that headshots register as chest shots and fail to kill FREQUENTLY. It happens with Scavs and PMC's alike. The audio is also really good and bad at the same time where when it does work it works great, but often times you hear people in places you shouldn't be able to or distance and direction is waaaay off. I believe this probably has something to do with the player synchronization issues. But as it is right now, most of the time sound can not be 100% trusted. Especially when it comes to audio on multiple levels of a building, certain doors and walkways having NO audio to them what so ever. Point blank, if you decide to get into this game you really gotta WANT to play it. A lot of people buy into it and are turned all the way off by how the game ACTUALLY plays out when YOURE playing the game VS. watching a streamer who puts 10-12 hours a day into this game as a job. A lot of getting to that point where this game is fun is harshing the first couple weeks of wipe until your quests are done and your PMC has high skills and traders, that's when things smooth out a bit cause you at least narrow down the RNG in favor for yourself a bit. If you fall behind, this is the type of game that houses ALOT of no-lifes. People who actively play this game generally have been playing a while as its a niche game. By 2 weeks in most of the player base is hitting lvl 30 and are turning into serious threats. They can hear you further away, they have less chance of fractures and bleeding and they can move faster and further than you with heavier gear on. Its easy to get left behind and put in a spot where you just cant keep up anymore. Alot of people DONT stick with it. This is a very demoralizing game when you factor in the RNG shit AND how raw it is mechanically speaking still having major core issues. The devs do OKAY with releasing patches and fixes and content but they are still very slow. They also tend to fuck over the mass of their player base to appeal to twitch streamers and people who watch but don't play this game. The last 2or 3 wipes have been completely broken for the first week at least. Due to high player counts and changes they made that caused 2-3 other things to become completely broken. It really feels like a revolving door sometimes where issues that seem to get better end up becoming a mess again down the road because they changed something minor that shouldn't of even effected this other thing, but it did. This is because like Isaid, these devs built this game on a really shitty foundation using Unity engine and they spahgehtti coding everything into a mess. Such a mess that they almost need to rebuild this game from scratch to really address these core issues WHICH IS WHY they are about to update the game and rework everything into the NEW Unity engine. Which still probably isn't as good as UE but it may bring these fixes we need. Might not. I don't get my hopes up anymore because usually what happens is you get really let down when it comes around and the game is somehow unplayable again for some other set of reasons. Also, no telling how LONG itll be before this comes to fruition. It could be in 6 months. 2 weeks or 2 years with this company. They tend to release information WAY ahead of when itll be coming. So Ide say we got a while. They STILL are working on getting streets optimized and then they got arena theyre working on, wipes gonna probably hit in another 2 months or so. No telling what changes will come with that. if I had to say whether or not tog et it NOW ide say no. Ide say wait for that engine update because honestly, this game is probably one of the best games ever WHEN IT ALL IS WORKING PROPERLY. BUT understand that that is kind of a rarity with this game right now and if you wanna have the experience you deserve you need to wait. Cause where this game is right now. Its like heroine. Its the best of the worst. I didnt even touch on hackers and that whole problem.

So basicly nothing to work twords build up or improve just hoard gear that gets reset anyways. The mechanics seem great but seems like it will have a lack of replayability to me. It needs like a safehouse you can improve and doesnt get reset. Just somthing concrete that im working for.

About system requirements, unless you wanna stick with factory raids your whole life, 32gb ram capacity is a REQUIREMENT, no ifs and buts. So many of my friends upgraded to 32gb ram and it always solved their stutter and lag issues, both in the game and in the menu screens, of course the rest of your system needs to be above recommended system requirements as well.

Its more like the opposite ... I would prefer wipes more often. :D There is no matchmaker in this game. Unless you play in the first hour after a wipe, you will usually encounter other players with really good equip. If you are a solo player you can get matched against/with platoons of other players. In a worst case scenario you might want to do a quest on Factory (the smalles map for up to 5 players) and you can end up with a platoon of 4 other players on that map. Obviously your chance to survive such an encounter is really low. Not to mention that the game officially is still in beta development and each wipes comes with mayor patches.

Best game currently in development. One of the GOAT games. Western devs have lost the ball when it comes to making a good game. Everything has to be a endless gameplay loop with a battle pass and loot boxes. Tarkov is pay to play with the base game being perfect for the majority of players.

Don't buy Tarkov until they fix cheating, dysnc, random big glitches like vehicle extract and quests not working, and que times. Genuinely unplayable until those things are fixed. Don't get me wrong the concept for tarkov is great but the studio just never delivers. A AAA studio should take notes and make tarkov but better, that would be fire.

"unplayable" you're just unwilling to put in the time to understand the game. Dsync, cheaters, bugs, que times are all issues but they aren't game breaking as you describe. I run into more blatant cheaters in Rainbow/COD than I do in tarkov. Please don't drive people away from an amazing game that you played for 200 hours and rage quit.
