Late to the party. Firstly, thanks for such a great video. Your whole Lacerda series is excellent. I have played most of the other Lacerda games. I was initially quite cool on the concept of this game. I don't know why really. For whatever reason it didn't grab my interest. But now that I've played it. (Multiple times) I regret not trying it years ago!. What a fantastic game. I haven't played solo or two player. But at Three or Five. It's OUTSTANDING. The best of the series in that every action feels thematically relevant. The relatively quick play time and limited actions helps to provide a sense or urgency like no other. And here's the best part. I've been able to teach this to 1st time Lacerda players and their minds don't explode. Like, try reaching On Mars to someone with limited heavy games experience and watch them fall apart. I've now taken several people through the teach and they've had very successful first plays. Good luck doing that with Lisboa!. (A Masterpiece! But SO HEAVY) This game has a lot of the thoughtful, challenging puzzles that you want from a top-tier euro, with a theme that makes every action seem natural and important. It's a shame that so many people seem to have missed it. Definitely happy that I have this in my collection.

Finally gave this one a try thanks to your excellent play through video. You guys have now helped me go 2-0 on first time Lacerda plays as I won my 3-player game of Escape Plan! (You also helped me win Kanban. So thanks!) I like the game a lot and I can think of it as a game I want to teach to most of my game group, but I also didn't like it as much as any of the other Lacerda's that I've played (Lisboa, Kanban, CO2), but I wouldn't try teaching those to most people. This one is definitely more approachable and, as always, wonderfully thematic.

It is easily hands down, at the very bottom of my Lacerda list, especially for solo play. The rulebook is just nonsense, and it seems like it is utterly impossible to avoid wounds.

Hi again ! Monique, at 1:17:40, you're using the helicopter fixer tile to move two tiles over without spending 1 MP for that move. The rulebook clearly says that you should have : "Helicopter (Cost $1k): When on a tile with a Helipad, use this tile >> and spend 1 MP

Hello ! I love your videos and I'm a recent collector of Vital Lacerda's games (I have most of them and I'm waiting for the Weather Machine KS to arrive (although I even haven't played all the ones I've got yet... ) This video is the best I've seen so far for learning Escape Plan. I find the rulebook is not the best to start with ! And I've seen some How-to-play videos, including Gaming rules which (official as it may be) has some blind spots... In the end, your format (with an overall explanation leaving a lot of details unexplained, followed by a playthrough explaining every detail when needed) is the best ! I don't like to play a first game like this myself (I prefer to know everything before starting and try my best from the first game), but as a "before I play" walkthrough, it's perfect ! ;-) Your Ranking Lacerda Games video is great too, so accurate. Thanks to it, I can say that I found what I was expecting in each game so far. Thanks to this, I was able to discover them with the right players too ! Players around me who would like On Mars are not the same who would like Escape Plan - although I do like them both ! (Out of CO2, The Gallerist, On Mars, Kanban and Escape Plan, my favorite is Kanban so far ! But they're all so exciting... and I'm saving Lisboa for the end ! :-)

I just discovered your channel and I love it! Finally a playthrough of Escape Plan! You guys did a great job. I did notice one mistake. At 1:05:45 when Monique took the subway, she forgot to avoid the red police officer on that city tile. Looking forward to watching your past and future content.

This was my last Lacerda to play. Absolutely loved it. It's higher on the list for me than Co2 and possibly On Mars. I need to play On Mars again before locking that in. Excited to play this again. May have to solo it. Thanks for all your hard work.

My wife and I like this game a lot One trick we learned is go to closed exits early to get income without losing cubes. I usually spend first day getting lots of money of I can. I often end with $15-20k

This for me is the second-best Lacerda, only behind kanban EV. The others are strategic and this one is very tactical! Amazing game with tons of replayability.

I havent played this one yet, its on my shelf, but have played some of his others. Can you explain the difference between tactical and strategic in this context? Ive heard this comparison before. Thanks!

@@JonArt_As_Board for me a strategic game is one we can plan two or three steps ahead. On mars is just like that for instance. Escape Plan is tactical because even though you can plan a little bit, it's a game of reaction. Each day new tiles are placed and is a tactical decision because it depends on where you need to go, where do you are right now, where are your opponents, and stuff like that. You will see it once you play.

@@JonArt_As_Board just played at 4 and 5. There is an adaptation for Sandra but imagine it lacks interaction. I must correct one thing. I said this is the best Lacerda. I think it's the second best. The first one is Kanban EV. However, this is "easier" to teach and put on the table. Even though I find kanban very easy to teach to experienced players.

I love kanban EV and escape plan too. But i only have weather machine and kanban EV, soon want to but on mars and escape plan. Tactical and stratgic. Stratgic and problem to solve in weather machine is brutal to in solo mode. Sandra is now detective and mr. Lacerda is now on mars now. Haha very thematic when i play all at once for little more brain burning. 8 hours streak play solo mode. And it very nice and balance because, the designer solo mode is weather machine and kanban ev David turzi, on mars and escape plan vital lacerda.

You two are one of the best board game couples! I really want to try a Lacerda game. I just found a used copy of Escape Plan for a good price. Might pull the trigger. I really want to buy Kanban EV though. Just don’t know if I can fork over that much money! Plus I have to wait for a retail release.

These editions ARE the new 'Retail release'. The Eagle Gryphon deluxe copies are the only current productions -so try to find secondhand 🤞🏼

It cost Monique 4 mp to exit, not 3, because the helicopter movement costs 1, so on the surface she couldn’t escape that turn. However, she had a gas can card to save her. She just needed to pay for it.

Was the tile for exit 3 legally placed? I see the ferry line for that one but not for the other one s so you can't actually cross that body of water if the ferry doesn't service the water its connected to, no?

Really enjoy your gaming reviews. This one was especially good and got me excited to pick up my own copy (unique & strong theme is what catches my eye). Only to find out how freaking expensive it is. Perhaps in your future review you can mention the retail price. Price-gouging is a deal breaker for me. Thank you & keep up the good work.

I actually found it a great value. Price was slightly reduced a couple of months ago, when I picked it up. Made it really close to what the KS backers paid. The KS extras don't really add much value IMHO, but I got them anyway.

I find Lacerda games are worth the price. Especially when Ian O'Toole is doing the Artwork !! I prefer to pay for premium design and heavy cardboard than for plastic figurines... (Now, who am I kidding ! I'm a sucker for figurines too ! I could get carried away for a finely painted exosuits set for Anachrony, or BloodRage or Scythe finely painted figurines (since I absolutely don't have the skill or patience to do the painting myself ! :-)) Seriously, the overall quality in design and material in Lacerda games is really another level compared to lower priced games. Of course I understand budget can be a concern, it's not all about price-quality ratio, in the end you need to actually have the bucks. But still, a boardgame is not a Tesla...

Question for clarification: At 27:56, Naveen & Sandra each gained a Notoriety, tying the two of them; however, then Sandra went first again. Didn't Naveen & Sandra need to trade places since they tied? I just wanted to clarify on that rule before I do my initial (aka test) run on the morning! ---Thank you for incredible videos!! Cool game. It was a hoot. In my town, down in Aussie land, there was a group buy for this game,,,, the biggest group buy. I decided to get Lesboa KS instead 😀. I’m surprised that they decided to name the AI Sandra. In Lesboa it’s Lacerda. I think all the AI players should be Lacerda, given who made it..... not to feel like I’m being sexist, it’s just for respect for the designer.

I think that when you are competing against the AI, then it is Lacerda, but if it is a mechanism that just creates chaos, then it is Sandra
