Stop trying to discourage people and brag at the same time. If Anybody out there interested in making the move , research , prepare and jump. Don’t be discouraged by so called competition.

I've read a blogpost by an escape room Designer and he pointed out that if the city is big enough competition can be good since costumers normally just do the escape room once. So if you cooperate with other rooms and figure out what your city likes than it makes it easier.

RIP headphone users They can tell you how much it would cost to normalize your volume if they weren't dead.

jeez could you have at least tried to level volumes? You're quiet AF then all of a sudden in the first ten seconds your action sound is 10 TIMES LOUDER

I believe it, he is spitting straight facts about the business. This isn’t discouragement, this is reality. It’s even harder now 6 yrs later.

I believe you called your own idea "genius" in this video, but since I don't know you, I can't argue. :) Thank you for this video. It does add some perspective on larger markets. However do remember that there are still places in the US where Escape Room mania has not yet hit full-on like it has in New Jersey. If I was to open an escape room here in my suburban/rural college town, the nearest competitor would be an hour away (and they are brand new themselves). There are places left where you can still be the first in your area, but those places are disappearing quickly. Your point is well-taken though. Competition is growing and growing. The barrier to entry has risen in many markets. As for your corn field... As a diehard fan of "Twister", I am very intrigued by your game! It broke my heart when they shut down the "Twister" attraction at Universal Studios Florida last year. I might have to make a trip to New Jersey!

Same here. Last time I went to Universal I was a little devastated. Hey, If I do not believe my ideas are genius, who will ;) Your point is valid, but keep in mind that things escalate quickly. You always have to outdo yourself. Inexpensive gets expensive very fast in this industry. What happens if you open that 10k or under game, and then someone with 2 years of good game design opens within ten minutes of you. You will have to level up to compete, and hopefully you have the finances to do so.

The escape room is not very expensive. Therefore this type of business is very attractive. But he will be able to bring money only if he stands out against the background of others. A lot of escape rooms were opened and closed due to their monotony. Therefore, in order to do this, it is better to contact knowledgeable people who have long worked in this field. For example, you can order a room here - superengineer.ru/, by writing to the mail fly-frog-fly@yandex.ru. Or you can buy a franchise, but they often make running a business expensive.

I've played the witch's game and I don't know how that could be over 100K after building 8 games in 2 locations and soon to be 3. I do appreciate the posts.
