Great video, Juan. I hope it brings more guests for them. The airstrip idea is excellent as we pilots will go to great lengths for an excuse to fly somewhere. Maybe the number of airstrip comments and your encouragement will help motivate them to attract fly in guests. From what I can see In the video it wouldn’t take much to make a small strip.

What a country of stunning contrasts. Environmentally, socially, politicly. Stay safe. I think each and every one of you needs to dig pretty deep in regard to the points above. You all have a stake in your country right down to those not doing so well. Frankly the American people deserve far far better than their elected leaders from both party's are giving them.

Good idea for the airstrip. Minimal investment to bring in overnight plane trips. Resupply the camp by air might be a alternative or a option with supplies far away. I wish them the best in these difficult times for small business.

It made me ache to see those wide vistas and the Big Sky. Would have been HEAVENLY to look up in the night and see all those twinkling little lamps in the sky, which are close enough to knock down with a tall stick. The music was appropriate too. Almost heard Ole Turkey Buzzard......

I live in the UK and I travel to Utah as often as I can for hiking and canyoneering (but not so much recently!!!) I've flown all over Utah too, in my little US-based 65hp taildragger (not a Luscombe but similar!). It's a lovely part of the US with a dry climate and wonderful scenery. I've probably made 15 to 20 separate trips to Utah .

I was born in Salt Lake City 71 years ago, but home at the time was LaSal, Utah. My parents worked for Charlie and Joe Redd who ran what was at that time the 4th largest ranch in the United States. I still remember the ranch, though my family left there when I was a toddler. I do believe Hardy Redd still lives there. I often dream of going back there in the closing years of my life, but I don’t think the opportunity will ever arise. Thanks for the view of home.

Beautiful place and nice cabins too. It's so weird to see the cabin's rafters spaced so far apart from each other...here in Canada we get a winter snow load and the weight of which would crush a roof like that LOL. Anyway, thanks for taking us along and enjoy the trip!

That looks like a great spot, and a very smart couple running it. A small airstrip would certainly increase through traffic or out & back day visits with a small diner and looks easily feasible. Also could be handy in case of emergencies.

Reminds me of a little settlement near the middle fork of the Salmon, in Idaho. I was there on a wildfire in the mid 80s. The hand crank (!) phone was part of a small exchange run out of another small settlement. Phone line ran the last couple of miles attached to the top strand of barbed wire fence. I tried to make a call: hold the receiver to your ear then crank the handle a few times, if she doesn’t answer, just do it again till she does. Sometimes she’s out in the garden. Since I live in Moab I probably won’t use the BnB but I’ll be sure to let others know! Happy new year Juan.

Love this! Reminded me of a bar we used to visit in Montana, steps from the US/Canada border. A long way from anywhere. Three hours from the nearest pavement on the Canadian side. No gate at the border. No food. Just liquor served by a crusty old dude that didn't like hippies but loved young women. Always made sure one of the women was chatting him up and the taps flowed. Had a few hippies on the crew. We were tree planting in the area and I got lost one day and accidentally found a bar 20 km from our camp. Added big to my cred... Had a large photo on one wall of two grizzlies humping with the bar clearly in the background. You know you're out there when... Check it out on Google maps. Still there today. Not sure if it's still a bar. Been many years. Might make a cool bike trip. The Flathead Valley is gorgeous. www.google.ca/maps/@49.0005027,-114.4838488,1370m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en&authuser=0

I worked the LaSal mines in the 1970's. Beautiful country. Went back this summer, drove up a box canyon to camp at treeline Mt Peale. Was woke at 2AM by smell of wood smoke & saw deep smoke haze, scarey, broke camp, skedaddled in 4WD down a long tortuous 2-track. Met Rancher John on the main dirt road at 4 AM, who was woke too, and worried about moon disappearing in the smoke, he was looking for the fire. Finished my sleep, woke to find fire was miles away east in Colorado. Never will I camp in a isolated tinder dry box canyon again. Water, if there was fresh water the place would boom. I tend to go where its dry and consequently not despoiled. In La Paz BCS now, dry again, the aquifer is being sucked, salinity increasing. If there was fresh water, it would grow to like crazy, supporting huge highways, pollution and gridlock. Desalination has a great future for the burgeoning human population.
