i had just turned 18 when they threw me in here for non payment of traffic fines. In the few short months i spent in the remand yard followed by YOGS (young offenders group) i developed a deep distrust of government and humanity in general . This place was absolutely disgusting. It was my belief they created hard hatred filled criminals here. I remember looking at guards and wondering what sort of lousy circumstances led men to work here. I never became a criminal and it's been a long time now, but the human stain of this place never left me. They ruined my outlook on life and all the colour drained from my life.

Pretty sure I was the last American to be a guest of the Queen at the “bluestone college”. This was in ‘96. I was there with American Dave, good guy, staunch, it’s where I learned what it really means to be a convict. Americans here have no clue, they are all inmates.

@@seancurrey.8279 I was at Parramatta in the early 90s for a couple, very overcrowded at the time and divided along racial lines. Being NSW Sydney it was sandstone as opposed to bluestone, not sure if that made it any better. Opened in 1798 which probably made it one of, if not the oldest operating prison in Oz at the time. Nowadays apparently people pay a couple of hundred to stay the night in a cell, how fkn ridiculous is that. Anyway mate I hope you’re happy and healthy and those days are well behind you.
