My Mum got this film for when I was a kid. Even though it was an "old film" I loved it and watched it countless times. I enjoyed every part of the film but my favourite part like most others was when Pele scored a "Pele" after coming back on the pitch with fractured ribs after the Nazi Guard had elbowed him on purpose. The Pele Goal always gave me goosebumps.

@JohnUSA75 ай бұрын
I too was a Cosmos fan and when I lived in NYC in the 70s and 80s I went several times to their home games at Giants Stadium in NJ and saw many great stars: Besides the great Pele here are some of these great players that I was so happy to watch these amazing football players: Franz Beckenbauer Carlos Alberto Johan Neeskens Giorgio Chinaglia Julio Cesar Romero Vladislav Bogićević Werner Roth (he appeared in this movie as a German player, he took the PK shot at the end of the movie) Ricky Davis Andranik Eskandarian (he is listed as Iranian but actually he is Armenian) Dennis Tueart Roberto Cabanas Shep Messing (GK) Hubert Birkenmeier (GK) Wim Rijsbergen Roberto Cabanas There are many more players. This team was so good that when Hamburg had just won the European Championship in 1983 they came and played the NY Cosmos who were the newly crowned NASL Champions. So this match was between the European Champions and the North American Champions. Cosmos destroyed the European Champions 7-2. The Cosmos put on an exhibition match to be remembered for a lifetime. It was such a fantastic match with a lot of goals. Cosmos were a team for the ages. It was all possible by the $millions$ spent by Warner Brothers, their owners. So glad that I was able to enjoy this unbelievable classic team which I will remember forever. FYI...when the Cosmos played their home at The Giants Stadium it was always at full capacity, which is unbelievable during the times when soccer was not yet so popular here in our USA.
