This manufacturer is all about making the trailer what the customer wants and everybody seems to want them so I guess it is working for them. The function of the tow vehicle is to pull the trailer but also to safely stop the trailer. With the 5.0 TA trailer it is easier to calculate the need of the towing truck because the gross weight of the 5.0 is 5500 pounds. A 1/2 ton p/u is just under 5000 pounds but the weight on the drive axle increases as the brakes are applied. With thought given to road condition and following distance, controlling the 5.0 is reduced to the using common sense.

Will Escape go to a composite sub floor in the foreseeable future? A bit lighter and no issue if there is a major water leak.
