We head to the Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming for our second stop on our 40 day long road trip across the USA and back. While there, we explore the surrounding trails as a family, spotting multiple moose and take in the beauty of the high alpine. I also hike to the summit of the tallest peak in the range at over 12,000 feet. Finally, we are forced to flee a night of thunderstorms that threaten our cabin on the mountain pass.

I’m surprised that the first route you tried to take wasn’t marked better. You can’t be the first person to try to get there from that starting point….I would think that somehow, someone would mark the way better than what is was when you realized you were going in a loop. Glad you were able to find a different starting point. The view from the summit was absolutely amazing! Sorry the thunder and lightning impacted your stay, but it was smart to go down a little….you never know….I hope you, Riley, and Olivia are having a great time on your adventures that we don’t see. Medicine Bow NF is such a cool place. Too bad the weather chased you down the road to lower elevations. At least you made it to the summit of the range. The rainy thunderstorms while camping were some of the best night sleeps I’ve ever gotten. Right along the snow storms and cold temperatures. Sleeping in the van rain hitting the roof of the van or the high winds and barely visible snowstorm covering everything around me. Good times.

oh that was priceless getting olvia to try carrots. i remember when our daughter went from formula to solids. she had her likes and dislikes and there were a few times i had to do some clean up. she hated peas but liked corn. and after all that a short shot of bourbon was definitely in order, helps wind down the day and you can enjoy some mommy daddy time. im only halfway thru the vid but wanted to post a comment.
