I'm not gone! just taking a social media break...
Real life is crazy busy, and there needs to be some balance.
Not ready to "talk" to y'all yet with a "real" vlog...
So enjoy this attempt at a "vlog" without talking ;) hahahaha
Trying out new gloves:Dirt Gloves.
The owner sent them to me for free to see what I think.
Similar to handup and tasco with the minimalist, no-padding feel... but the inside is spandex (instead of nylon like the others).... so its way softer on the inside (initial impressions).
AND the owner gives proceeds from every sale to CandAid.... makes me like the business model.
I'm thinking of partnering with them for this year for a fundraising effort for CandAid.... with a big discount to y'all.... and an bigger contribution to CandAid than they normally do. TBD.
#notsponsored ......YET ;) lol

Hey y'all! I'm not gone, but still taking a break from YT, IG, FB...etc. Work is crazy...life is crazy. Changes are happening. But enjoy this attempt at a "Silent Vlog".......... which HornsHighMTB said: "Isn't a 'silent vlog' just called a POV vid?" 😂 *Sorry for lack of "shred" - my back was killing me, and twinging shooting pain... Had to go to the chiropractor and neuromuscular therapy right after to try to sort it out...😓

I am familiar with back pain, neck pain too.😬☹ but I haven't been to a chiropractor, but really I would just have to have one that lives with me then. but yes I had those shooting pain, and just need to lay down moments, but I don't get that often, quite rare. but misaligned back, neck I get quite often. my whole body is a collection of misalignment. recently my right foot was troublesome, I think everything misaligned there so much that it gave me pain, it was like that for weeks, but it's getting better now. the twinging shooting pain can be big misalignment, which can be dangerous is you are not careful, so when I get that I walk slowly and go bed, no fast movements. but usually it's not that bad.

any idea how thee back problem came? I can wake up with messed up back, I can get issues during a ride, during other common daily activities, but riding a hardtail on gnarly trails guarantees my back bein thrown out and possibly my neck too. full suspension has been a great help to me, and my new bike will is also a big improvement, more stable, less tiring, and better fit, better position. my new bike has very supple/sensitive suspension, so it's great. I noticed my lower back is more stable than it was before, but it's still not optimal, I still need to continue to work on my strength.

My main reasons I don't ride are being too sick, having neck, back problems, or somewhere else. but my wrists problems during riding has been solved by wrist supports, so no more missing turns cus of wrist misalignment, not being able to brake properly.

Thanks for making this vid -whatever you want to call it. Staying caught up with MTB You Tubers is helping me get through the recovery for the first of two shoulder surgeries I’ll have this year. Anyway, trying to make the best of it all. I hope life calms down for the better for you and you get back in a good groove!

This winter has kinda sucked. I finally did a small ride last Sunday. First ride since early November or late October. Weather here has been constant snow.😕 Great that you can make it out to Moab. I can't even get away for an overnight thing to Moab or St. George. I really want to try Ahab, though! Anyway, take your time with life stuff/adulting. That is more important than replying to strangers.

While I’m on the other slope. I find CO a tough place to be a mtb’er in the winter. You get these awesome warm days but the trails are still too muddy. Or they dry up like they did in Jan so then I feel this immense pressure to ride every weekend because I know it won’t last. Looks like you had a nice chance to take advantage of the drying we got this last month to get to Moab! Feel better soon man!

So living in Minneapolis and then Michigan got to really hate snow! I moved to Tennessee where it happened hardly ever and now I'm in Colorado. This snow we got today just brought it all back to the surface. I can't agree enough with you Sheyn in that winter seems to bring out the negativity/depression in me. While I don't have instagram or facebook and don't leave evil comments, I do feel depressed with it all. I feel negative just saying I hate winter. So I hope you get better and I'm glad to see you made it out to what seems to be Utah "Moab"? Anyway, we'll get through this hopefully sooner rather than later!

I feel like this is a pretty common problem in the mtb community. We pretty much all use biking as our primary stress reliever, plus many times it is also the only time we spend with specific friends. I always find winters to be pretty hard on my emotional health.

Vitamin D is good. Only get it in enough amounts from the sun, and strongly linked to winter blues. Also, best to take it easy to avoid injuries, they suck.

@@markbuttery2790 If cannot get out meditation can clear the mind of thoughts. Also focusing on space and silence can be a good a pick up as being alone in nature. A trip down to to the pub (or anything social) also compensates if not getting out with mtb buddies so much in the winter :)

Hope you are doing well, nice to see you enjoying that ride! Can tell you are a nice guy. Vitamin D helps. If I get in some blues I sometimes post some nasty comments about the bike industry, ha! But I do not really mean it. Had a lot of injuries this year. But worked hard on mental health and it has paid off. CBT is good, plenty of books on it. Worth a try to see if works for anyone. It needs some effort but paid off for me. Also, a spiritual teacher called, "Eckhart Tolle", if you are into that kind of thing and he resonates, he is really insightful. The scenery out there and blue Skys looks uplifting. We do not have scenery anything like that in the UK. UK is good though in many ways, so many great places to MTB not far away.

i am curious to why the vid is so crazy overexposed and dark, and overly contrasted. also it has artifacts: 8:53 any idea why? I know we both use Davinci Resolve. I see the vid switches between what seems to be a Gopro colour look to flat color profile. is it the camera? my GOpro 4 session goes crazy with the tint, and everything, so I have to correct it a lot which can be time consuming. but I haven't had issues with a lot of thee image being black, but I did have some bight to black flashing.
