The Night Time Escanor loves Merlin but sees that he is not worthy to be by the side of someone as amazing as her. But Day Time Escanor is the opposite. As in he sees Merlin as the only women to be by his side. So personality wise he is the same person. But he either lacks the confidence within himself, or becomes overconfident to the point of others being looked down on.

After watching the recent Four Knights of Apocalypse episode and looking at the new pride and sunshine, It feels totally different to witness the original man of pride. Spoiler: Gawain had pride but ain't no honorable like our lord Escanor!
