Do you currently live in the Escazú, Costa Rica? What do you like about it? What do you not like about it? Are you considering living there? What questions do you have?

I’m from Costa Rica, and this video does a great job of explaining what expats need to know.

Escazu is probably the easiest transition for somebody coming from the US or Canada. You pay a price but it lowers your discomfort adapting to a new country and culture. I highly recommend the Costa Rica Country Club if you play golf or tennis and want to socialize with the CR business elite. Also, recommend the adjoining communities of Santa Ana and Guachipelin. Your videos are well done and informative.

The Sheraton/ casino is a vehicle breakin dream, even though they have armed guards. We went in to have lunch on our last day and had 85% of our stuff stolen from our vehicle. We had to get new passports and change flights, etc. The hotel helped us out alot, with an interpret to do police report for insurance. The security company was suppose to reimburse us, but the Sheraton did on their own, a year later. A stressful situation and learning experience as to what not to do. Park in the underground parking only or avoid the Sheraton all together!

Escazú, located just west of San Jose, Costa Rica, indeed gained a reputation as an upscale and desirable area, particularly in the early 80s. The comparison to Beverly Hills in Costa Rican context often refers to the exclusive and luxurious private communities such as Cerro Alto, Royal Hill, and Villa Real. These communities are known for their stunning properties, high-end amenities, and beautiful views, similar to the opulence associated with Beverly Hills in the United States. In addition to the mentioned communities, Valle del Sol and Bosques de Lindora in nearby Santa Ana are also recognized for their spectacular homes and surroundings. These areas attract affluent residents, contributing to Escazú's image as an enclave for the upper class. The "Beverly Hills" reference is likely a shorthand way of conveying the affluence and exclusivity of these Costa Rican neighborhoods, drawing a parallel to the well-known luxury lifestyle associated with Beverly Hills in California. It's a way of emphasizing the upscale nature of Escazú and its surrounding areas in the Costa Rican context.

I lived in San Antonio, stunning views from up there and feels like a small country village. Yet only 15 minutes down the hill to everything!

Thanks for your comment! Sounds like paradise. Pura vida.

If you want a more local experience but that feels safe, quiet and close to the Lindora American feeling strip commerce street I recommend San Antonio or la Ribera de Belen

Is most of Escazú composed of hilly streets ? How is Escazú for older retired to folks? Is there alot of noise, honking etc. in the residential area? How does it compare to Rohrmoser, and how is the infrastructure, roads, sidewalks, in electrical outages, sewage, plumbing, water supply?
@stuartkidney3257Ай бұрын
These two gringo talking heads don't know much, LOL.... Rohrmoser is the ONLY 1st World patch in the Country. You can leave your car at the curb and it will STILL be there intact when you come back. Smart people keep their valuables behind walls at all times, especially at night. Escazu is huge and you can't make generalizations, it ALL depends on the development you are living in. For example, look at Bello Horizonte - it is rural, in the mountains but high end developments.

Ey men, could you help me to move to Costa Rica , no money need, just help of honest people thanks
@C.Masterson4 ай бұрын
He said it's expensive.... very vague. Expensive like $2,000 for a 2BR condo on the beach? $1,000 for a downtown studio?? Some range of numbers would've helped, but I will look at Airbnb prices. How about crime?
@yourpuravida4 ай бұрын
You can find a range of options from a $500/month studio rental to a $5 million house purchase. Overall Escazu is expensive compared to other parts of the Central Valley.

@@yourpuravida $500/month studio rental in a decently safe area??? Cool!!
@6betoman63 ай бұрын
$500/month studio in Escazú is unrealistic. Anything below $800-900/month will be a very simple place
@yourpuravida3 ай бұрын
@@6betoman6 fully agree - it is possible, but everyone has specifics and goals. we wince even giving any guidelines because it is very subjective and also depends on where and inventory.
