ow god, i felt ashamed to be Dutch, when he basically "asked" if she was aware of the bad role model she is for gay ppl...but she handled it like a lady, and gave respect, when there was non givin, she spoke from her heart, u can call it all just an act, but this was straight from the heart and thats why i love her

Conchita comes off as such a nice and friendly individual, yet so many people are so hateful and spiteful towards her. Drag queens are meant to be funny and entertaining and Conchita is just that. In 2007 or 2008 a drag queen from Ukraine ( Verka Serduchka ) performed and no one made a fuss about it because she was a campy queen ( funny ) but this year because of Conchita's appearance shit hit the fan and people started bashing her and then some of the participant in this year ESC were criticizing her as well. So if everything was perfectly fine when a drag queen performed those 7 years ago why all of the sudden everything changed?

NetherlandsEsc I think he misinterpreted Conchita's message about being a role model for gay people, thinking that it's showing a stereotype that all gay people are feminine types who dress up as women. And that apparently scares gay people that are 'in the closet' because most gays are just regular people, you know? But, yeah, it was a really weird question.

I don't think it was an ignorant question at all, but reflects on the intolerance within the gay community itself. Sadly, a lot of gay guys feel offended by girly, campy or feminine gay guys because they don't want other people to believe that all gays are like that. We must live what we preach and if we ask for tolerance, we must start within our own peer group. That being said, I think Conchita handled the question very well.

Alex S. That is very true, however I felt the question was 'ignorant' because Conchita doesn't necessarily preach about LGBT rights. It just something that strongly connects to her general message of tolerance. But, yeah, Conchita made that clear in her answer.

1st rehearsal 2nd rehearsal 2nd semifinal so he sings 3 times on the stage then he sang 4th time in final and 5th time after he won it. OK?

serously, isn't it a good idea that people attending and especially participating in a press conferecne SHOULD know ENGLISH if that would be the language used, I myself am not a native speaker either, but these guys speak terrible English, it's hard to understand :D
