since pinapaganda ang Pasig River sana i restore din ang mga Heritage buildings dyan sa Escota n along Muelle de la Industria...ibalik yung charm n ambience of Old Manila as Manila was once known as the 'Paris of Asia' before WW2 because of the many Neo Classical, Beaux Art n Art Deco designed bldgs in the area.....once these blldgs are restored n rehabilitated, many al fresco cafes, restaurants, bars n bistros n hotels could be put u in this area to resemble an ambience of the Latin Quarter in Paris along the river Seine...it could be another tourist attraction like Chinatown but this time a European semblance of Paris, France...Manila will be the only city in world w/ a colonial Spanish town(in Intramuros), a Chinatown( in Binondo), a Koreatown (in Malate) n in the future a miniature Parisian city in this area along Pasig river....

True, population increases BUT land areas does not ! Escolta is near University areas & Divisoria supply center, still a valuable piece of Real Estate. Many Europen cities have restored & maintained the Old Buildings. With modern interiors & comforts. More Vertical Parkings is needed in Old cities, as the street are narrow. That means only a few can stay there, a mid size neighborhood. While modern cities in the National Capital Region are super expensive. The rise of young middle class can't afford to invest.

Yes, I have stayed in family owned small hotels & airnb in Europe. Most of them are century old buidlings that are fitted with modern amenities.

I had anticipated a greater presence of modern buildings in Escolta, reflecting the current state of affairs, rather than the remnants of old artifacts and items that were used in the past.

Some old Buildings can’t be torn down now IF recognized as Cultural Heritage under RA10068 The National Cultural Heritage Act, officially designated as Republic Act No. 10066, is a Philippine law that created the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property (PRECUP) and took other steps to preserve historic buildings that are over 50 years old. It was signed into law on March 25, 2009.

@@CoffeeCatsVLOGSjust like in vigan.the community,a number of non-government/civic organizations and the local government had joined efforts to preserve its colonial architectural designs that made it as a unesco heritage site last 1999 as the best preserve spanish colonial town in asia.and last dec.7,2014 it became one of the 7 new wonder cities (2011-2014) of the world.

No matter how much attempt to revive Escolta is hard since the infrastructure is old dating back to Spanish Era. BGC, Aseana, Ayala, Vertis North and even Ortigas have wider streets and newly constructed edifices were built with parking underground not like Escolta where cars are allowed to park on the already narrow street.

🏢 First United Building has installed fiber optic internet & co-working spaces operating. Large units, large windows, high ceiling 👍 airflow. Offering cheaper rents for start up small businesses. They called it "Adaptive Resuse." - Escolta has a vertical community parking near the spherical building at the end of video. ~ 🙏 thanks for taking the time to comment ~ Preserving Old buildings were done in European cities with modern interiors. It retains a culture, history & character of the city. 🚶🏻♀️🚶🏻Eventually attracting tourist & investors. It needs good leadership, planning, forward thinking & lots of funding 💰! -

Correction American Colonial era original buildings destroyed during the second world war rebuild and restored during the construction period around 1946 to early 1950's mostof the prewar building are vintages only not on the category of antique still livable Escolta needs a proper management like the Intramuros Administratipn or IA and proper planning to serve the present generation for reviving Escolta to what it was is incapable in a moment but a cateful planning and intelectuallity is needed for example condos will be build behind iconic buildings to cater and serve the tenants the lower portion will be transform into arcades and mall type with historical theme the road will be cable stones while the entire street will be close to traffic a tram will serve the transportation to bring the turn of a century ambiance old type benches and old style lampost with terracotta pots greenery and flowering plants will give Escolta a historical and Colonial ambiance to serve the Escolta residences and a mall dedicated to Escolta. Escolta had a second name which is Down Town the Mall will be called Escolta Down Town Mall this mall will be pattern after the ZOOM MALL In Russia one of the oldest shopping center in Russia built in the 19th century a classical cars will be part of the attraction like Havana in Cuba and the parking area will be built like the parking area in Makati a building with multilevel of parking spaces This is my Vision of New Escolta

@@mikeyfraile2402 Nice ... I can imagine your vision for escolta. A revival of "Paris of the East," sophisticated elegance. -- Calvo museum has the Old memorabilia program sheets of theaters, classic & high end productions.
