Cosworth originally made that 16 valve cylinder head back in the day as an aftermarket upgrade for the Pinto customers, RS2000's and the like. So, the story goes - It was "spotted" by some Ford executives that were being shown round the Cosworth factory who then went for the legendary Ploughman's lunch at a nearby pub and came up with the idea of turbocharging it and sticking it in a Sierra to go Group A racing.
