Escrima - Way of the Warrior BBC series from the 1970's
Escrima/ Kali is a great fighting art. Often taught very seriously and with great intent towards the actual fighting skills.
Short stick, as it is known in China, is a really good weapon to be skilled with and a great weapon to use against a knife attack - legal too.
This is well worth a watch

Indeed, once proficient, swapping blades for sticks is relatively simple. Remembering, of course, that when one does that, that there is a live blade in action from there onwards.
