Overall esee 5 it is better almost in every aspect, and thickness of esee5 is 6.3mm, and BK2 is 6.6mm. If you have any measuring tool you can check it!

I don't see any situation this knife would be a better option then a esse 4 . I don't understand why anyone would need a knife that thick and short. Its to small to be a chopper and to thick to be a good cutter. Personally a mora Garberg has done me great. A strong second BPS adventurer.

@richardhenry1969 if you use a knife to baton wood the more pronounced wedge and thickness would shine there the most - I only do it on small camping trips where I don't bring many tools like that. I can see carrying an esee 6 in 1095 and esee 4 in s35vn as a great 2 knife combination to cover almost all bases

@@TheReviewPigeon yeah I've never understood the batoning thing either. Guess im just from the old school outdoors. A good 4in a folding saw. An I can pretty much do anything.

@@TheReviewPigeontorn between making the Esse 5 & BK2 my main EDC-Work/Get-home blade. Is the BK2 significantly smaller overall in length? It looks like it from your video @5:55 mk. I currently use a Mora Garberg, great for strictly wood working but it chips too much when coming into contact with hard things. Thanks

@@JohnLocke1776 I've never had a problem with my Garberg chipping. I'm in eastern woods so we have a lot of hard wood. Do you have the stainless model?
