I bought the Esee5 and love the feel that it has in my hand. I also purchased the esee3 for lighter tasks also purchased the izula-2 in Orange and the Candiru as a neck carry with orange handles for carving bowls eating or drinking, I also purchased 2 Arrowheads for hunting. The best thing about esee knifes the replacement Guarantee. I know this video is over 6 years old but like we say in North America it kicks ass.

Just a couple kids playing with their new toy;) Esse knives are still a bit out of my price range for now but you do get what ya pay for. Their sheaths are top notch and honestly the canvas micarta is some of the best looking I've seen. You guys should consider getting the Gerber Strongarm, I just bought a Prodigy a while back with the serrated blade and it has changed my whole opinion about them. Its become my goto blade and it only cost 45$-50$, I have a drawer full of knives and now they don't get used, its really a great blade and their Strongarm is the better new edition. I guarantee you would be impressed. Awesome knife brother the orange is cool I also love the lime green I'm officially jealous.

Gerber Strongarm is on the list. i love the feel and the sheath assembly too. thanks heaps for the message too mate :)

Awesome video boys as always. The Esee are hands down my favourite knife I think they are as close to a custom blade as you can get in a production knife worth every cent 👍. Dave don't ever leave me alone with it 😆😂

Not sure I like the orange, but I understand why you got it in that color. I think its something that would grow on me. And if you set it down and found it because of the orange, then it would be worth it.
@blackanchoroutdoors2393
@blackanchoroutdoors2393 8 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's exactly right. I kept looking at it online in the orange and it grew on me and for that one reason of me putting knives down while doing other things and not being able to see it was the only reason I looked for a brighter colour. It really stands out but is discreet when in the Kydex sheath.

I like this knife a lot but it weights a pound. So im torn as I wonder if it's to heavy for shtf/survival where every ounce could be critical as you could be carrying everything on foot.
@denisdegamon8224
@denisdegamon8224 4 жыл бұрын
When you are looking at a SHTF scenario you want a bullet proof blade. You are not backpacking so the weight factor is mute.
@Skyfall-sv8df
@Skyfall-sv8df 4 жыл бұрын
@@denisdegamon8224, I disagree. In a SHTF scenario you may indeed be "backpacking", and ounces will equal pounds more then ever. Its a great blade but there are better, lighter options.
@denisdegamon8224
@denisdegamon8224 4 жыл бұрын
@@Skyfall-sv8df Your opinion, as a past Airborne Infantry grunt type, realistically in bad situation you really need a stout unbreakable knife and this is one of those blades. It was dedigned for the military as a heavy duty do all survival, escape and evade weapon. This blade isn't for gram weenies. You are really searching for a good overall camp knife like one for bushcraft in the 4" -5" range with either an 1/8" or 5/32" or even a short 13/16" thick blade like a Tops BOB or a cheaper option might be the very serviceable Mora Garberg in 1095 carbon steel. Look for a shorter version that weighs in at around 10 to 12 ounces with the sheath and a good belt or dangler style sheath. Maybe even find one that is molly compatible so it could be mounted on your pack. Truth be known, over 90 % of the people are ill prepared to bug out and woukd be better served to shelter in place unless you are living in a city environment....in that case learn to becone a grey man and blend in. Most have no training and are not fit enough to hump a ruck, have no trsining, no real plan, not enough in route provisions.....most of them will just die.
@Skyfall-sv8df
@Skyfall-sv8df 4 жыл бұрын
@@denisdegamon8224, bugging out on foot is always the last option but if it comes to it, every ounce will matter, period. If you are truly claiming otherwise then you have no idea what youre talking about. Frankly, I've yet to meet anyone whose spent a lot of time on foot loaded with relevant gear that didn't care about weight, youre the first. Anyone who actually tries to prepare for real world scenarios, disasters, etc has seen time again, shelter in place is almost always the best option but there are exceptions. Fires, Tsunamis, hurricanes, etc are just a few natural reasons, never mind parts of the world where we've seen people have to flee to save their lives. And if you're not prepared as much as possible for any foreseeable disaster than you're really not prepared for much of anything and just fooling yourself. And in a bug in situation the Esee 5 makes even less sense. The esee 5 was designed for one purpose according to Esee. But hey, you like fairly small, heavy blades, great. And I understand you're a fanboy for Esee, and they do make fine blades. I'd bet I own more Esee knives then you. But there are better 5" blade options out there that can handle anything anyones going to need to do, except maybe the stuff from your fantasies. But if you like it, use it.

@@Skyfall-sv8df Dude I was an Airborne Ranger and worked with Special Forces types so what the hell do I know. If your not training weekly you sir ain't gonna make it anyhow. Don't even try packing too much crap, usd as much multi use tools and equipment to mimimize weight. Good luck to you, your going to need it.

Don't fuck about with the locking mechanism, just trust it. The knife and the sheath are the cat's pajamas, no doubt, but... ...Malfunctions are still a thing, and judging by the angle, your mate could've been singing falsetto by now, should you have had the misfortune of buying a lemon.
