We need the blade profile and window break of the 5 but in the 3/16 blade thickness and thinner scales (bow drill divot included) of the Laser Strike!

Great review! Found you through a link on the ESEE forums. I have a candiru, 3, and a 5. I love the 5 but it is a beast, I just like the fact that no matter what I throw at it, it will handle it. And don't forget the amazing ESEE warranty.

Dude thanks I had no idea the Esee 5 was so beefy and I was thinking of buying it but I wouldn’t want a knife that big for what I’m doing I was also was also looking at the Esee four but I prefer a 5 inch blade.

**GriN**. Had to come from the other video to see what you had to say. Personally I really like the deep finger choir and jumping on the spine of the Laser Strike, Allows me to “choke up” for fine work like inside the lung cavity of a deer. IMNSHO it has plenty of belly for skinning, to. Didn’t care at all for the coating on the blade. That went away ASAP. Used warmed vinegar to put a nice finish on the whole blade after removal. It’s easy to sharpen and holds a fine edge. Went with a bushcraft style sheath with a dangler. The Knife Connection scales made it feel great in my big hands the way they are contoured. Definitely a winner. Thanks for your very informative videos. I’m waiting for Buck to come out with a 124 Frontiersman Pro version. That should be a winner, as well. I think you may have forgotten about the Laser Strike's storage chamber in the handle which includes the tinder tabs and ferro rod.

My ease laser strike handle scales seem to move a little, any advice? I tighten the scales and they move slightly but I can tell

What is the best knife for lightweight backpacking? I currently have the ESSE 5, but it's too heavy considering my pack base weight is 16 lbs. I would like to be able to do some batoning, but I would take my ESSE 5 if it was a lot. A lot of lightweight backpackers swear by Moraknives or the AG Russell deer hunter. I do like the safety mechanism on my 5, but I can't go with out it. Thanks for your help. Hope to get a knife recommendation at or less than 6 oz including sheath.

kenshiassasin the ESEE6 is $113 at knifeworks.com shipped. If you need it to be cheaper. Then I would say the Laserstrike.
