ESFJs being ESFJs for 16 minutes

ESFJs are honestly pretty overhated/don't get enough attention. They're really nice people and I do not get why they are hated so much.

I lost a close friend recently who is an ESFJ. The best parts about them include their caring nature for others, but it's always conditional or situational. They don't say what they mean or mean what they say. They are highly sensitive to criticism, yet nitpicky about other people. That clip of Woody and his friends is a telling sign of deceit. I always thought it was kinda weird how Woody would just abandon his friends like that. He lied. And had no problem doing so, and he was manipulative. Yes, Mr. Potato head, go off on Woody please. 11:15. The Isabella clip was also something that annoys me with ESFJs. 3:19. Just communicate your feelings! 3:51. That moment Isabella went off on Phineas reminded me of my friend and our phone conversations. Very judgmental, without a care in the world of how Phineas might respond. And kind of controlling... Gosh dang it... If ESFJs knew how to consider needs of others and not from a self point-of-view, they'd probably have an easier time in love or friendship. They fail to accept that other types have different worldviews. ENFP here.

Update: We are friends again. ESFJs are something special but I guess just give them time to cool off - then they will come back when they are ready. They really value their space and also can't stand being alone. It's something I (ENFP) need as well. A healthy ESFJ will be a trustworthy and loyal friend. And they will always make a point to remember special events like bdays, etc. And another thing I love is the swift communication over text (mostly they prefer calling). Anyways, I love my ESFJ friend and I hold him close to my heart.

Lool i feel you, my mom and a few family friends are esfj’s and they are jow you described, also as an enfp im just like wow i feel very controlled and like my inner feelings are irrelevant, i think as long as they have a good heart i will be their acquaintance or be civil but i notice they trigger me alot (there heaviness, there self absorbedness and there lack of tenderness) so defo some self work would help me deal with them more open mindedly

@@Walkermorning96 I agree with you with the lack of tenderness. I feel like when people get too close to them, they start to back away and have more reservations. In the beginning of our friendship, my ESFJ friend would hug me randomly when he hung out at my place. I thought I'd initiate a hug but he rejected it! In that moment, I didn't want to be friends anymore and wished him the best. But then after the rollercoaster of emotions and miscommunications, we finally reconciled after a couple weeks. I slowly came to terms with the fact ESFJs take longer to warm up to people and show their love. Mostly, they like to show love through quality time and gifts (basically practical things that they see as helpful in their eyes). It's almost like a "mothering" type of energy. But the only thing that's missing for me is the hugs! For goodness sake I fist bump and hug all my coworkers but my ESFJ friend hasn't hugged me for months and I feel like I could cry just for thinking about it too much.

ESFJs!!!! Please Read This! I am an INTP and I understand. I love you. I seriously love what you are doing for all of us. Sure, I'm married to an ESFJ and her vibe is totally 2:31 . I gladly accept that I have bias but honestly so does every one else. It took me awhile but I see it now. Every civilization that ever existed needed a "Caregiver/Consul" but not every civilization needs a "Logician' or "Architect" I honestly believe you are what we base our civilization on and I honestly appreciate you providing a place for the rest of us to flourish. I see the hostility and negativity but they have misinterpreted what you do and do not have the higher understanding that is required to create love in action. You do that. Male or Female, I've been around both in the ESFJ world and I just want you to know that I gladly acknowledge and advocate for you. My fellow Intuitive/"Thinkers" are ignorant. This is a heart felt Thank you and I love you.

ESFJs are beautiful. I love them. (I am an INTP) They are my absolute favorite bar none head and shoulders above all other personalities. If you are an ESFJ, I love you. If you are not, you have my sympathies.
