It's absolutely crazy how theoretically, Echo is the most powerful hero in the game, with insane dps and burst damage coupled with the strengths of every single hero in the game. I mean, is one hero absolutely bonkers broken that they murder anything they come across? Then Echo suddenly also becomes extremely broken. The only reason I see for why so few people are maining her is cause she's freaking hard. Like the hardest hero in the game. The skill ceiling of her ult is so high you couldn't see it with a telescope.

You can also bind flight to mousewheel, instead of swapping to hold, to help make the timing easier to hit (still probably easier with hold, but might feel easier to adapt to)

I started playing for the first time with the launch of OW2 (my friend encouraged me to play it with him, he was a big OW1 fan) we always just played QP for fun but this season I finally started to play some comp (around 120 games) and now I managed to pull myself to Gold on all roles. after that, playing supp and tank was still fun for me and I know I have a lot to learn and improve but on DPS since I got to gold 1 I couldn't play good and most of the time got my ass handed to me pretty rough. teamates started trashing me in the chat so hard to the point of telling the enemy to report me cause in their stupid mind I was deranking them on purpose. anyways I got demoted to gold 4 after a 3-15 set which was a massive decrease in my self confidence to the point that even on qp now I have a hard time playing DPS (which I was good at before!). anyway just wanted to share my experience if anyone was interested. but I'm not giving up until I get back on track again and try my best to be a better DPS next season with my mains (Reaper, Soldier, Pharah, a little Tracer and Ash here and there). if you have any tips and suggestions on this matter I'd be really glad to hear them. thank you for reading through this long ass comment whoever you are. oh and by the way my friend uninstalled OW2 around last season lol.

Counter picking exists, hard counters exist, but it’s not ALWAYS the cause of you losing- you can play into counters and hard counters AND win. If you play Genji, or Dva into enemy team with zarya, Mei, sym, brig, Moira- you can make an impact, but it will be very VERY hard. They’re hard countering an entire ability- your ult will be very hard to get value with as Genji too BUT if you play safe and smart and understand the fundamentals of your character- you still have the ability to get value. Just like if you play rein into a flying comp who block you off from the high ground- you’ll have a hard time- but can still bring value with hard work.

been a pharah/hanzo main since 2017, tried echo out, loved her- same thing for me, the only time i died was from the change in flight setting! just something you should get used to over time ^_^

OK That Echo setting, I would recommend everyone to use it´s so much better The same setting goes for Soldier actually can´t believe she didn´t in top 500, thought that is "common" and the "best" thing to do cause it´s so much more convenient and just easier to get better movement

what i love to do with mei (and it feels like i'm actually placing walls faster) is to change her setting to "release [ability key] to confirm" on wall placement, placing walls with a single button tap if necessary (edit) also, i use the "hold to [ability]" for pretty much all heroes by now, yes it takes some time to get used to, but it gives you so much more control about timings for also like reaper wraith or rein charge or my cyro freeze or even genjis deflect, that i cant imagine anymore playing with the fixed timings or a second button press to stop it early

@@Drailic glad it was of help ^^ Just be aware that if you do get used to it and don't play one of your mains who also has "bold/press again to cancel" it might mess you up there afterwards, so if you commit to it, you should change it for every hero that you're not never playing

@@Drailic there is, it should remap to left click Aka Pressing E once instantly places wall Holding E and pressing left click once, then releasing E should place it rotated And you can set default wall rotation too I think, but horizontal is better for quick reaction walls in my opinion

The echo hold flight tech is harrrrd to get 100% used to and 95% of the time it will make no difference in an engagement. But damn does it feel cool!

You should play Sym it’s really easy to off angle and respond to flanks. Fun team play, entertaining trolling like with Lucio, rewards good aggression, hard to punish and forces swaps which are countered by echo

Try making your mei xhair a circle with dot set to invis. Keep it small like your current one. Easier to keep aim on body imo

i use hold shift setting for mercy ga so i got it in my brain that hold shift makes you move, maybe that can help you adapt faster

The only thing I have to say about Mei (now ofc ur much higher rank than me bc I’m masters) is to use ult a bit more. I’m getting coached by a T500 and I seem to get a lot more value when I use blizzard for zoning people out as well as just getting small picks

On Kings Row, your tank might be a duo. Let's say Master and T500 or Diamond and GM, so the Rein got brought to a higher rank than they're used to. It's quite rare to see this in GM+ games.

Stick with the hold to boost... Just use it for 30 minutes in an Aim Trainer and you'll forget you ever played Echo without it. And do the SAME thing with Dva. It's so much more efficient, it takes your gameplay up several notches. Prob good to do with Pharah too, but I don't play Pharah.
