Something I learned as Echo was to deselect “toggle flight” in the settings for her so you can use it sort of as a like superjump. It’s really useful when leaving spawn and such since it’s faster than just flying

I like to think of Copy similar to how you described. For me I'd describe it as a tempo ult: this includes using it for an extra life, or for outlasting enemy resources. Another tip for Echo is getting to know which heroes build their ult fastest. D.va is a really good hero to copy in general. Bomb builds incredibly fast, and I regularly remech on people as Echo. Baby Dva Echo builds mech in split seconds lol. The next fastest ult charger is Rein. You can build 2 Shatters or Bombs with these heros. It's hard to build ult during copy as Zarya and Sigma. Still hard as Hog and Queen, but as they can self-heal and have good burst damage up close they have an easier time--you're generally copying them for their base kit. I'd say Zarya is not usually great to copy because of her charge mechanic. Ram seems good but the ult ends when copy does (however Ram will also give you like 2 extra health bars if used well). Orisa gets value even if you lose copy as you hit Q, they'll still get sucked toward the center. This shortlist of heroes are generally good to copy purely for consideration of an ult (not considering other reasons to Copy): Tracer, Sombra, Ball, Doom, Hanzo, Symmetra, Mei, Ana. The rest of the DPS are kind of situational and you'll want to assess your own skill with them, your team's comp, and their range. Remember heroes that heal and damage build extra ult charge and can situationally outpace other cheaper ult costs despite having relatively more expensive ults: Mei, Soldier, Ana, Reaper, Hog, Queen. Moira and Brig also fall under this category. They have the most expensive ults in the game. But they can build them just fine if you copy them at a good time to cleave with both damage and heals.

As an Echo main, I’ve been struggling with who to two trick Echo with too. I’ve rotated between Genji, Sombra, and Tracer because I just like the dive heroes more than the others but I’ve never known if they’re actually good complements to Echo. But I also don’t want to play someone I find boring like Torb or Ashe either.

i think this a great idea, i feel like i have been to lost in the sauce in the support role atm, i have been thinking about switching to dps for some time to refresh but i dont rly know who i would seriously wanna play either. i think it would dope if u had a series, maybe it would helpful if u had the heroes you want to master picked, and some goals and plans for each, so u can structure a series around that.

Have you tried the setting for echo that makes her shift “hold for flight”? If you just press it, the initial boost is really fast. It’s like an Omni direction version of pharah’s shift

in case anyone doesnt know, this is still possible on the default mode, you just have to double-tap it and it can be kind of easy to mess up the timing. i play with the double-tapping just bc im used to it, but yeah the initial speed boost on echos flight is very important and maybe actually the best part of her mobility.

yeah the double tapping works too but just the initial press is much faster. and you can do some pretty crazy stuff like bonking your head on a doorway, b hopping, and stuff of that nature. but its all just a preference

I used this method back in season 2 with ball and when he became meta the following season I jumped from plat 4 to gm 4. I don’t care what role I climb in so instead of picking 3 in a role I instead one-trick one hero per role. If I successfully guess one hero that would be meta the next season then I focus more time to climbing in that role. This wouldn’t work for Eskay because she is trying to climb in specifically dps but it works very well.

Dps is definitely my worst role. On tank and support I'm diamond, but on dps I fit comfortably in silver, which is crazy. I'm assuming my movement is garbanzo beans, and my aim could probably use a bit of work as well- I'm gonna do the same challenge, though I'm gonna go with Genji and Cass :3 dunno if I'll do a third Any wisdom your able to give while you do this series would be greatly appreciated :DD

As a genji one trick idk if I'd recommend swapping off echo to genji as he's pretty easily countered and you have to change your play style depending on the counters, another good option is a mobile hitscan, like soldier, ashe, and if you need to spam hanzo and junk are always good. The important thing with genji is timing especially if they have an anti dive backline like a brig. So up to you just play and hopefully have fun :)

Do you have flight toggle on for echo? It just seems really uncomfy to smack shift every time to cancel ik its personal pref but idk if u can do that like super jump when u hit shift once, anyways cheers mate

I see you dont use the flight cancel tech almost like at all. Do you think its detrimental? O like using it to get my cooldown back faster, so I changed flight to hold instead of toggle and I normally only hold when fighting flying heroes

Learn Echo Mei Soj and probably ashe/cass easiest way to climb just master those 4 and EZ gm1 thats how i did it and dps is my off role (you can also substitute Soldier for any of those Hitscan characters but only if your really confident in your soldier)

Aight idk what this "owl playas" creds are (what do nocturnal birds know about fragging out and/or popping off smh my head) Imma let ya finish but Echo x Hanzo is the ultimate two trick to climb to the very highest of ranks (and I would know I peaked Masters 2 all by myself, no biggie). Hanzo and Echo often excel in contrasting situations, when one isn't working the other often will, BUT they are quiet similar in terms of play style in regards to win conditions and the overall focus for the player, both providing hard carry potential by finding high value picks, at a rate that can often snowball entire rounds. You don't need to rethink how to add value when switching between them, you will still be avoiding pulling major focus from he enemy while trying to find or manufacture a moment of vulnerability to go for a pick, different approaches to the same win condition that is also a generally reliable way to win ladder games. However they both also tend to suffer the more attention the enemy pays to you, so if you pop off one round you can often find yourself struggling to find any value in the next. This means that switching between them can allow you to play a similar role within your team and in how you provide value but with a completely different impact from the enemy's pov, that will require very different approaches for them to deal with. Also while it's subjective of course I'd argue that they are both highly rewarding and enjoyable heroes to invest time into, both mechanically and in building up a repertoire of creative approaches to every map that is unique to them and will only improve over time. A good tertiary hero to consider would be Cass, any hitscan in general can be a solid choice for times when the more solo playing for picks isn't working, providing the consistent and persistent damage that they can lack. Cass is my go to because in he can also work in brawlier short range situations but mainly because my tracking is ass so I find much more value on him than on somebody like soldier. I generally play more Sojourn than Cass but that may or may not be due to my bff being a lil femboi mercy main that sometimes just wants a King to pocket (or toddler to babysit depending on how my aim/ego is doing on a given day)
