Technical difficulties, lack of awareness, or financial constraints may prevent updates. Instead of accusations, Eskom should improve its outreach and support for users to complete the process. Holding all non-compliers under suspicion without evidence risks alienating law-abiding customers, undermining trust in the utility.

But how when it's impossible to call them!!?? You hold for 2 hours only for the call to cut off. From caller number 160 to caller number 4, then the call drops. This happened to me several times. All I need is to verify the account so I can recode.

What they not telling people is ... Your units must go to zero. Before buying again. Once on zero you buy and then you receive your two sets of tokens and the units that you purchase. That's what I did months ago and that's what I read. Sooo not sure if it's working differently now.

What is annoying is that ESKOM if a ruputable functioning business should have a database of customers with corresponding metre numbers and they should be able to determine who has not replaced their metre. So sad that government entities are so incompetent in managing their business and that the people need to pay a fortune for the service and still have to do the work for them. This country is stuffed up because of incompetence and all in these entities are part of it incompetence. You dont deserve being paid a penny.

i live in Gauteng and the meter at my house in Limpopo can only be recoded when i go back in December and i left the card back at the house. i only bought electricity once back in 2018and have never had to recharge because i only use it for lights.. their deadline should have been after the december holidays
