@eisbeinGermany I am post paid, I all ready feel the pinch, I managed to get my payment down to R700 to 1000pm with cost cutting, now with the increases they keep getting, I am now paying on average R 1500 to R2700pm, winter is worse as I have tenet who uses a heater.. Also, eskom charges a network charge of R10 per day, that basically giving them R300 for nothing, just because I am on the line.

If we being honest, and don't get me wrong I get where you coming from, but the dumb ones are actually us who buy our electricity because we being absolutely ripped off and it's not being justified. The tarrifs are way high simply because the ANC kept ruining Eskom and now the little guys must pay for their destruction. this is not fair . i bought the house last year August with bridged meter and then report to eskom at venda and since last year their having meter shortage . I then made plan to get one from contractor which am now fined for it and then i paid money till this day no eskom electrician came to install meter , ive went to their branch various time still i hear no meter in store . I used to judge people who were not buying electricity until I used my last cents that I had. Bought R300 worth electricity and only recieved 69 units. Those 69 units lasted for 2/3 days. So in this economy you have to choose whether you buy electricity or you buy food.

That is true but due to poor communication from ESKOM most wanted to know if their meters are safe they still slept outside ESKOM offices just so they can get help. Had ESKOM sent officials to communities to explain how to check if you are safe, that congestion would n't have happened.
