Uhhhhh hi! Thanks for watching! I forgot to mention that all the rotations can be used for a 0 pet build as well. You can just swap out the bird for bound aegis or w/e skill you need. It is a little less DPS, but gives a little more bar flexibility. thanks! I try to not make this too much about just the dummy. You can definitely develop a solid rotation and practice on the dummy, but want to keep an open mind and optimize differently wherever possible.

Gotcha, yeah penetration and sustain I figured would be the biggest difference. I suppose the kind of stuff Im interested finding out is say for a stam character, is it actually work it to switch to a penetration based set like TFS instead of Lokkestiiz, and for arguments sake assuming you get a reasonable uptime. Or what you switch around of you need additional resistances or dmg shields.

Yeah both morphs work. I should put a note in the description about it. Meant to say something. Mage's wrath is a little more AoE dmg, but the sustain from Endless can be really nice in some situations, especially 4 man dungeon stuff.

it's not much of a loss for single target and is better for cleave. I usually prefer to use it on most fights. Pure single target fights you'll do better with ele weapon though.

No self heals save for a couple of sorc passives being procced, a true dps setup like this won't have ANY self heals, just focused on dealing dmg. And in a trials group you'll have plenty of heals coming in so it won't be an issue unless you find yourself separated from the group The sorc heal being procced is from the dark magic skill line btw ✌

Greetings, this is a Great Guide! I'm playing ESO since two weeks and just reached 160cp using your novice set up. I have a few questions: First: Why unstable wall befor the other morph elemental blockade? The explosion is really late... Second: How can i get this yellow/red Cast Bar?

the bar is an addon called "combat metronome" - for unstable, it does a bit more dmg than the other morph. the explosion is late...but most fights last longer than 10s so it shouldn't normally be an issue. You can also recast early to get the explosion earlier.

What if you use maelstrom fire staff on back bar but shock staff on front bar precise with fire glyph? With force pulse spammable. you could do a hard attack on front bar when necessary. If you use unstable wall of fire then switch to front bar wouldn't you still get big aoe shock splash? But then how much do you lose on the light attacks? I tried testing and it seemed I got more on the shock light attacks testing by just laying down fire wall and switching and doing 3 la's with shock staffs and then fire wall with fire staffs. I hate two fire staffs. Or would maelstrom shock staff and fire ms front bar work better? What's the dps difference? Your vid was great, very informative and flexible, room for a lot of situational switches!

Double fire is the best for single target bc of the light attack dmg and the bonuses that fire staves get to single target damage. Shock is nice for aoe though. I’d do it front bar if you want more aoe dmg

Thank you! It's really close since you save the GCD using haunting and only have to cast once every 12s. I think for scenarios where your bird is consistently on the target and the atronach is getting all of its ticks off, you still wanna go prey, but I can see haunting being right there with it in other situations.

You can use crushing shock as the spammable, sure, but you don’t ever want to drop crystal frags. It hits too hard and is good for sustain.

It can be helpful, depending on the group, but generally a little less DPS than a standard sorrow setup. If you are going to run asylum, drop the execute though for bound aegis.

For a bow/bow warden, I'd try and use the blue bi-stat food (stamina + health) and see how sustain feels with that. For potions, you want to use wpn dmg + wpn crit + stamina.

Good video I went from high elf to khajit feel ten percent crtit damage increase is better than 258 spell damage. Also it's easier to sustain and looks better. I will try the blood to thirsty some day I can see we're it's good.

Thanks. Yeah the crit dmg is pretty good, but unfortunately it's mathematically slightly inferior to the spell dmg. Plus they don't get as big of a magicka pool, which also contributes to damage. But in the end it's only like a 3% difference or so, so it doesn't matter that much.

@@skinnycheeks funny I just saw your comment and I appreciate the response. I was debating going back to high elf or trying dark elf I neglected the champion points which with increase Magicka. No concrete math just guessing with 14 percent damage added plus Magicka there's about a 350 spell damage difference. But if it's only 3 percent I think I can live with that. I personally like khajit and the extra health and sustain I hope bridges the gap

Great video! Why is it when I switch from back bar to front bar, force pulse does not always light up or I believe it is called procs. Sometimes it and crystal frag and endless fury are all dark, that is, not lit up so all I can do is light attack. Am I doing something wrong? Am using the novice beginning gear and rotation.

I'm not sure. that sounds strange. you could try tab-targeting the enemy? maybe your cursor is drifting off of it?

So far after trying about 5 to 6 magsorc builds and rotations this is by far the best for me so far. Still have a long way to go. Thanks for the reply. P.S. No, there are some alternate craftable/purchasable setups mentioned as well. some good options are mother's sorrow/new moon/julianos/medusa(next patch)

Thanks! Is your crafting up to speed to craft some julianos? If not, you should be able to buy a set for that price range if not less. If you have a guildie who can craft, you could just pay them for the mats as well and it would be really cheap.

is the difference between high elf and breton huge? having to reroll would be a bummer; I like to do some solo stuff like farming, arena, or pvp but idk if the passive differences are a dealbreaker.

For all the things you just listed, "farming, arena, and pvp" I'd say breton is just as good as high elf, if not better. High elf really shines in optimized scenarios where sustain is less of a factor and you are just trying to push out maximum DPS potential.

they are both in the description. parses were done in non-parse setups too, so you can add about 6-8k for more optimizing for the dummy.

Thanks! So the idea is, you have the damage over time abilities running, then you have a window in which you just use spammable abilities. That means the abilities that just deal one instance of damage. Crystal frags has a chance to proc it's secondary function off casting any magicka ability. So if that is active you use it. If not, you use force pulse, or elemental weapon, or w/e other spammable you might have slotted.

Finding it hard to get used to remembering what skill to use next but I'm sure when I've mastered it it'll be great... It's already a huge improvement to my previous rotation of using pet buff and elemental blockade then spamming crystal frags till im out of magicka then heavy attacking till im full again. Can you tell I'm new? XD

How much of a DPS drop would I have if I used crushing shock instead? I've had unfortunate instances with tanks that expected me to have an interrupt ready for dungeons and I did not. Also, if at the moment for the back bar I have the option of a second mother's sorrow inferno or Maelstrom lightning staff, which is better? I'm still hunting for a Maelstrom inferno with no luck.

no DPS loss for single target damage, you just lose the secondary damage proc that hits surrounding enemies, which can definitely be noticeable depending on the fight. The the back bar, run the maelstrom lightning until you get your maelstrom inferno. As long as your light attack weaving is decent, it should still be more of a boost than a sorrow inferno.

Hi, been watching your videos for a while now and was just wondering if in the novice setup if mothers sorrow lightning staffs could be used instead of fire staffs? Don’t have the gold to buy the fire staff and haven’t had any luck farming them

Devon Yano yeah you can definitely do that. It won’t be much less dmg. Just a little bit worse.

probably about 5% if you don't factor in sustain. it's hard to say though cause if it allows you to sustain better and use bi-stat, where-as with altmer you'd be struggling, the difference is less.

just wondering as I'm looking at alt dps builds to spice things up, currently at 80k on my magsorc. I can't fully figure out what he's occasionally block/bashing for? I can see the AC for C-frags or curse but occasionally there seems to be random ones?

bash weaving used to contribute to a lot of your dps when this video was recorded. no need to do it anymore as it was heavily nerfed.

Yes, of course! Your AoE dmg will be a bit improved and your Single Target dmg a little lower. Overall it is a slight DPS loss but you can do it.

Thank you for an awesome, in-depth guide. I have just one question. Is it a good idea to stop casting storm atronach when nearing the execute phase in order to go into execute with power overload? Or is that just a bad idea?

I'm pretty sure I ran that idea by Wilfer and he said it was a dps loss. I think as long as you are going to get all of your atro ticks off, it's still better to use it. If you think maybe you'll only get a portion of the atro ticks in, I could see overload being better.

Oh I remember now, the issue is that you have to spend a GCD to activate overload, which doesn't deal any dmg, and it's hard to make it back up.

Hey! How far behind in DPS contribution is Julianos from Siroria or False God's? I have Julianos and Mother's Sorrow fully optimized, so should I worry about farming those? Or switching Julianos to Spell Strategist?

The biggest diff is that you don't have a set that has minor slayer on it. Julianos isn't far behind though. For AoE, stick with Julianos, but spell strat is a bit better for pure single target DPS

Are you sure that having Twilight Tormentor + Daedric Prey is really worth it over Bound Armor (+8% max magica and corrsponding spell damage) + Daedric Curse? Twilight Tormentor doesn't seem to be doing much damage...

Tormentor does a ton of dmg. Absolutely worth it. Especially in today’s game. Pets were buffed to do more dmg with spell power too now so the tormentor does even more damage than when this was recorded.

I'm at ~550CP right now and looking at ways to squeeze more dps out of my character... Also does daedric prey affect the damage of the Storm Atronach? (I can't find this information anywhere...)

@@skipperg4436 both of those skills are nice if you can squeeze them in, but a little hard with 1 pet, and especially with 2 pets. But yes the twilight is pretty much a must for max dps and the scamp can be really good situationally as well. Mag sorc will be my next mag class to update as it’s been a bit since this came out and there are definitely some new talking points to go over. It’s not a lot different from this video really, but would be nice to get a fresh version out.

Thanks for video. No new stuff for me, but interesting thing with mages wrath. I think 3 infused ring will be better then 3 bloodthursty because sorc don't really have good execute abilities or passives like templars, nightblades and necromancer.

Thanks! Just really depends on your group comp and the content, but yeah 3 infused can pull ahead sometimes. 3 BT is more consistently good DPS though in my opinion.

is there any way to use barbed trap on your intermediate rotation prebuff instead of channeled acceleration? Im on ps4 so swapping skills during a battle would not be possible. and is there a reason why atronach is in the front bar, but not back bar? is it ok to switch the ultimates?

atronach gives you 2% extra spl dmg from being a sorc ability, so that's why it is on the front bar. and yeah trap is fine and preferred for lots of fights.
