They didn't mention here that this "comet" has density approximately 6.5 g/cm^3 which is abnormal density for ice and rocks. Of course if they calculated it correctly. A superconductor like vanadium-gallium has the same density.

climbergreen I don't know where you saw this, but it's absolutely wrong. We can't constrain its density as precisely, even if it seems to be high (nothing anomalous), this number is bogus.

Whatever they tell you, they're lying. It accelerated out of our solar system under it's own power. It was not a comet. It was and is something much more -> interstellar self propelled vehicle. Why have they NEVER shown us the exact item, it's always an 'artist's impression".

our best OPTICAL telescopes are still too slow and too far away to catch that fast things. All you eventually will be able to see on that kind of image, is a small dot, not different from the stars in the background.

does outgassing a little for only a few days produce enough force to change the trajectory that much?

*Wonderful discovery.* This asteroid torpedo is very interesting. It might be a space ship, it might be an unusual fragment from a mining colony of aliens. In any case it's a very interesting object category that we can study, if we see more of them.

Didn't they say it was spinning fast? If so, wouldn't it be outgassing in all directions equally and thus would not outgas in its exit direction while leaving the system?

That's quite scary that such a the piece of rock can enter solar system from nowhere and leave by the same way without any prompt. It can destroy literally everything in a moment. May be it worth to observe the place or direction where it came from to find more new ones?

The question is if the energy this object gets from Sun with radiation is comparable with that needed to boost it?
@JeffersonHunter
@JeffersonHunter 6 жыл бұрын
It is. Also, the additional boost is getting weaker the further away it gets from the Sun. As it should.

open MS paint, fill it with black, then use white brush to paint white dot. That's what they see, nothing special to "begin to have this conversation". A lot of data can be obtained without having quality photographs of the object.

Estimating shapes of asteroids/ comets, based on their lightcurve is pseudoscience & Oumuamua is an outstanding example of this ! The sensational cigar shape is pure rubbish, as explained with proof, in a video called "Oumuamua - Rubbish Shape Estimate", on my channel. I would love to hear an intelligent rebuttal from folks who blindly believed the cigar shaped bullshit. I am not aware of anyone who challenged the ridiculous shape estimate of Oumuamua. The world just went along sheepishly with the peddled story. By the way, why does ESO depict a white sun as fictional yellow / orange, just like flat earth idiots do ?

Our Solar System probably got Reconned on!! It could of been an Interstellar spacecraft "Camouflaged" as a comet or asteroid (whatever they decide to call it), it came gathered some Reconnaissance from our Star (Sun) and nearby planets and made that L' ish or U' ish turn and picked up speed! ??? (shaking my head) lol Hubble Telescope still up there, and has taken pictures of of other Galaxies, Nebulas, Clusters of stars , and all we get from 'Oumuamua' are just like Cartoon Animations? Also the S.E.T.I. (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligent life) Telescopes, and we get no radar or any type of images.
