Mario Paint - Banjo-Tooie: Gloomy Spiral Mountain (Original Soundset)

This is extremely impressive for the original soundset... I sure didn't see the dickspeed thing coming! Some people are "purists" about writing songs in Mario Paint and think you should always stick to the original sound set. But if it was really about staying "true" to Mario Paint, then one shouldn't be able to use sharps and flats either. And no serious musician can write without those. At least not in any other key besides C and maybe G.

To be honest, the original soundset bugs me, seeing as how out of 15 instruments, 5 of them are basically sound effects, 2 are percussion, there are two pairs that are basically identical but in different octaves (hearts/planes and mario/stars), but the biggest thing is that the cars are the only instrument that reverberate at all. I can't stand not being able to create a "solid" background to build off of besides one that sounds like Castlevania IV! lol

Your viewers' opinion? With pleasure! =D For the usual stuff : awesome use of the original SF ; the instruments are nicely chosen and appropriate. Excellant accuracy for the notes (some chords sounded weird though) and the volume control is all right. Little articulation details, but nothing major. About the variations : the two are actually great, but I think the second one fitted and worked better (the planes already act sighlty like percussions). Great and enjoyable work! + fav. ^_^
