Something I have always loved. Ramones music was happy and upbeat and bubblegum poppy. I was lucky enouhg to probably get as closets to Slayer and Jeff before he passed. I was sitting with Dave lombardo and his son the night before Jeff died. I asked them "how is Jeff doing?", Dave's son answerd:"he could do better if he stopped drinking, its messing up his recovery", we both laughed. The next morning i woke up to the news of Jeffs death. His legacy lives on today, and will for decades. The songs he wrote set the bar for the vast majority of bands that followed in the next generations of metal groups. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Slayer deserve the same type of recognition a band like Led Zeppelin gets. Truly game-changing music.
