ESP has updated the specs of this guitar since my review was uploaded. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan '78, not a Distortion. The bridge itself is a Floyd Rose 1000 SE (same specs as a Floyd Rose 1500) with STAINLESS STEEL (not Titanium) parts.
Tones start at 9:42!

Awesome, I hope you pick one up this year as well! Recently got a Kramer Beretta, one of the newer ones, and it truly beat all my expectations. I had to sell my 3 Kramer Americans in the early 2000s and that was pretty close. Always wanted one of these as well and I like the new graphic and alder body as well. Great review!

Very cool video, George himself custom built me a guitar called the Crazy Horse which I consider to be a pre-cursor to this guitar in many ways. I have a video of me playing it on my channel. I wanted a Desert Eagle myself but I’m more than happy with my custom axe. Congrats your hard earned money went to a good cause as well with the donation of proceeds I thought it was cool that they were doing that. Huge Lynch fan myself.

I find it very strange that the LTD models are getting ss-frets now, but the MIJ E-II series, still comes with nickel silver frets despite being more expensive and their prices even went up over the last years.

@@captainflamson Thanks for commenting! It seems that they changed the Duncan Distortion to ‘78 before they started making them. The retailers just never caught up with the changed marketing specs from the release statement. I have yet to pull the pickup from my guitar, but ESP said in an email that the official spec is a ‘78!

I was 15 at the time. Me and my friends were more into Dokken but I can't drive 55 and Your love is driving me crazy were the biggest tunes of the night. He also did some Montrose. I have a Korean Ltd Eclipse and it slams.

One of the best reviews I have seen in quite some time. Greatly appreciate the thorough neck information, as I have heard GL's older models had wide necks. Like you, I much prefer 12". Do not want to invest $1700+ in a guitar that will just hang from the wall. 🤘

I have an ESP Kamikaze and my only complaint about that guitar is ....to access the truss rod, you have to take the neck off the guitar. Lovely ....take the neck off the guitar, make your adjustment, put the neck back on, level the Floyd, re-tune, repeat if necessary ....arrrgh! I love the wide, nearly-flat neck on it, but I use a ton of wide vibrato. At least with the Desert Eagle, you have instant access to the truss rod. I'd love to get this guitar but I just picked up a Jackson Soloist, and I don't need another shredder.

Does the volume knob go from one to ten or 5 to ten like my LTD yellow 🐯... Penobscot..bay.... bad naval defeat ............I also bounced my Jackson off the floor like a basket ball then caught it

I’ll have to check on the volume pot. I usually ride them all the way open so I don’t notice the taper. Sorry to hear about your Jackson, hope it survived!!!

Hey, great review! I just got this same guitar and the only issue I have so far is the bridge pickup is extremely noisy vs all the other pickups I have. Are you noticing that too?

I have not. I wonder if it would benefit from shielding in the control cavity?

Oh, they sure do! When it was announced they said it was a Distortion and that’s what MF says. I honestly don’t’ know! I’ll have to remove it when I change the strings next and check!

@@jawa7058 Thank you! i just received mine today and it has some weight to it for an alder body. Feels like a cross between my Kamikaze and my Skulls and Snakes. Sounds great playing thru both my Engl and Fender Bassman. PU cleans up nice - Love it!

The Floyd 1500 does not have titanium parts. Only the screws are stainless steel and the rest is just a regular Floyd 1000. That’s the only difference at all…

Received mine a couple weeks ago, after not expecting it until fall. I love everything about it. So much closer to the ESP than any other previous LTD Lynch, of which I have all but the Kami 4. Hate that sawtooth headstock. Anyway, my Desert Eagle came very well set up and in tune, straight from the factory. Great job on this demo!

@TheGuitarReliquary I'm getting to know one. It has stainless frets. If you ever got used to the old Ibanez RGs. Then, the Pia will feel more refined. It is a beautiful guitar! A flagship guitar for Ibanez. That being said, I tend to grab an EVH more often. It's not afraid of getting dirty. I'm not saying people can't or won't play the snot out of one. But they make nice case queens. It's definitely worth trying one! Plugged into a Synergy Vai Module pre amp.

Ridiculous... $1,699 for an LTD version made in Korea and comes with a cheap Korean Floyd Rose 1500. This is an $899 guitar all day I don't care what anyone says.
