wow longtime since I posted this comment anyways it looks like they got past that portal problem after all (in the manga) and in all fairness Grimmjow have flashbacks to when he was a cat. But I still think with the fight still going in HM and Orhime still there we might see Mr Grimm later on

he cant die, he will probably be the only espada left in the hollow world, and they need a high ranking hollow to open up a portal to the real world. plus most espada can only die through a massive explosion or other 'epicness'.
