This video Espen Mathiesen shows his basic foundations for controlling the reverse de la riva position. This is a powerful guard that can be mixed in from many different position. Not only does it stop your opponent from passing but it gives you many ways to attack to the back. Espen breaks it down by your opponents positions
Level 12 &3. Look out for the next overview of the double guard pull position.

This really makes sense. My crap DLR usually leads to me ending up in RDLR and having no clue what to do from there. You are imparting meta skills here of looking at what is happening and deciding what you can do - transfer weight, elevate, move yourself. Really good, information dense video guys.

Great information there. It will be nice to see some grip fighting sequences(Same as you did in dlr video) from common opponent reactions, for example when opponent grabs your collar(it is really hard to break in my experience), pant grip is super annoying as well. Another reaction is when opponent trying to square you up.

Reverse DLR may be what I need. I play a lot of spider but sometimes I can't get both spider hooks, nor do I always want two spider hooks. I like this give an option to control a leg with the spider hook. I also have problems with bigger guys that just stand up in my guard and we get to a stale mate. Bro if I start taking back from guard, damn I'll get all the chicks

This is great! However, with my size (6’2+) and going against someone who smaller the kiss of the dragon spin is a harder option, I can never fit between their legs.
@tor678
@tor678 3 жыл бұрын
That makes sense. But you might have an easier time off-balancing them from RDLR --> transitioning to other guards or going up for single legs

Or you could research the history of BJJ and realize you are encouraging something like badminton. A sport, not a martial art. Watch the Gracie fights. The originals. They make certain people understand a martial art is not a martial sport. And BJJ should never be diluted. You've just made BJJ nothing more than the Karate School. You're teaching people how to get the shit beat out of them and it's offensive to Bjj.
