We have been going to Mull for the last 30yrs. , what a fantastic wild place . I'm sure after all those years I could find Otter , Golden and Fish eagles without too much trouble . Its a wonderfull part of the world.

Great video Espen, just back from there myself. Did not get anything where you were it was just choppy most of the week. Did get otters elsewhere including the large male that uses the stretch of water near the ferry at Craignure. Eagles were a bit elusive although the hotel site and near the golf course were visible. Like that ghillie suit!
@EspenHelland5 жыл бұрын
Thanks David! Yeah I got one very good quiet day which really helped 🙂 Any good photos of eagles? I had a few goldens and a white tailed, but all far away in flight. Magical island though 😁

Konbanwa (Good Evening) Espen-Sensei! I just watched this incredible video on your Otter adventure and liked it so much I went to get Kaoru and we watched it again together. She was so impressed with your skills and emotional intelligence that afterwards she tolf me “I am so glad you discovered Espen…he’s a good human being! I think it’s a good thing that you want to learn from him (long story short - she is now engaged and fully supports our moving forward together). After the Otters she wanted to watch your “Best Photos of 2020” video, and we did. Thank you for engaging with me and I can see my Photography Journey picking up momentum. and direction in the months ahead!

Hi Espen, I saved this video for a day or two so that Janet could watch it with me, so here I am 9pm Sunday, just finished watching, Janet says thank you, we both really enjoyed it. We both approve of the way you describe the experience as more important than the photographic product, tho' what you've shown us is quite enough to make it feel as if we were there with you!. Last Wednesday at Kingfishers Bridge we watched a pair of otters on the lake from halfway down the fence line, we were replacing some fence posts and the pair of cranes flew over and landed at the side of the lake, so we watched them casually walk along the lakeside, when they dropped out of sight behind a bank I turned to watch a Great White Egret on one of the islands, then I noticed a little brown jump on the water, it disappeared, then re-appeared, then another one showed, briefly, then they both swam along popping to the surface every now and then, about two or three hundred metres away, then turned back and climbed out onto an island and trotted around for a few minutes, back into the water and swam back passed us again , away to the west and out of sight. The whole thing lasted maybe twenty minutes but is burned into my memory!. Of course I.d left my camera in the office, I was working!.The same thing stayed with me, that the otters and the cranes were undisturbed by us the whole time, leaves me feeling so honoured, and quite humble. Cheers, Richard.

Thank you both 🙂 That sounds like an amazing experience! A shame you didn't have the camera, but then again if you did you may have missed part of the experience that made it so special. Really want to photograph cranes one day 😁

Great video Espen - thank you! I go to Mull quite a lot for wildlife photography - it's a magical place! Is your ghillie jacket sold by Tragopan? I can't see it on their website - they have a 3D camo suit listed, but it's not the same - and I don't see a link on your kit list page.
@EspenHelland5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bruce! It is from Tragopan yes, they must be sold out just now. If you send them an email on the website you can probably find out if they get them back anytime soon.

Great footage mate. It's an area I know well but haven't been in three years. The opposite bank ( South side) is far better from all the trips I've had! It's been great watching your vlogs over the past couple of months 👍👍 Keep up the good work 👍👌

Hi Espen from a newbie. You popped up in my recommendation with the 7d ii tag. Great video, subscibed, now be working my way through your other vlogs. Was in Mull in June, no otters, but saw various birds of prey with a scope. Wonderful footage.
@EspenHelland5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that Jeff :) There were times after hours of looking I thought I'd never see one either. Luckily Mull is so good for all kinds of wildlife!
