Duplicate Ratadrabik is actually one of the best things that you can have with Liesa. Legend rule removals count as dying, so you get to trigger the creation of a token version of Ratadrabik by playing a second one, then you get two tokens the next turn if you get to do it again, then 4, 8, 16 and so on. If they kill it even after one duplication you still get a token of it to have 2 tokens, if they kill Liesa you get two copies of that. They would have to wipe the board twice to actually clear things since the non-legendary tokens don't come back. It may not override other deck building concerns to be worth running 4 copies of as many creatures as possible, but it was a serious missed opportunity in game one when you drew the second copy naturally.

Great point, although should still plan for the opponent to exile one of our creatures, at which point I would rather diversify my threats. Could be fun if you can pull it off and the opponent sticks around.

@@LegenVD Oh, yeah I would not expect them to stick around much if you do pull it off. Even the more modest case of only getting a single copy of Ratadrabik makes things pretty ugly if they try to remove anything but the token without exiling it.

I can honestly say you won't regret it. I've played about 40 games with it and it's definitely my most favourite deck so far. I really love 5 colour jodah but it just doesn't have the survivability this deck does. So satisfying when your creature is removed only to create a token, especially when it's the 4 drop that kills a creature or plainswalker on etb.

Excellent build. We've seen some human-legendary-tribal decks, mostly 5 colour topping out with Jodah. This build is original - which can keep opponents out of their wits. Also, it's easier on the mana and on the wildcards. Nice job, thanks for all the work!

If you want to try this with a different color try red instead of blue. Ratadrabik combos very well with Jaxis' copy ability.

I usually miss the WotC emails, but I did see the Jodah one and immediately liked that card. I've tried several builds and always end up right where CGB did. It's a powerful deck when it's in the mood, but even when it does cooperate, I find it boring. This deck uses two cards I've never been interested in, both Raffine and Ratatouille. I hadn't read the card carefully and assumed it was a zombie lord. This looks like it might (read: most definitely) be fun to explore and by that I mean, it works a synergy I have always wanted to achieve in a competitive deck. Thank you, Legend. Sultai Frogs will have to wait. I'll be busy working on Legends Legends for a while. 😆 I ain't lion.

From 2 days now i'm playing a more controlly version of this deck, switching out thalia and adeline mostly for meathook / rite of oblivion and dennick for ludevic (which is a really good way of getting back liesa or ratadrabik) i also play 4 copies of rata, since you are always happy to play him even with another on the field, to just duplicate him and then duplicate all his triggers later :) Cool to see i'm not the only one enjoying that deck :D Keep it up !

Toluz is what I run in mine. Been running my version for about a week, and did transition over to it. It is helpful vs Lillianna. Been in Mythic top 100 for last 4-5 days and started tracking my win/losses for the last 30 games. 70% win ratio. The deck is legit. Issues with enchantment decks, but I am slightly better then even vs the FOTM Mono black. I don't think the deck is particularly good vs Mono black, I just have gotten lots of experience playing vs Mono Black, and I think they are a bit unsure how to play me.

This one is going to be bad because it's legendary-focused. Give it a week and he'll have put out a couple much more budget-friendly decks.

Build an explorer or brawl deck to grind your dailies. This happens once a year during rotation, so be ready to either buy lots of packs by saving gold/gems before hand, or lots of wild cards to craft the top decks. This might not even be a great deck depending on how the meta shakes out. We will not know what the best decks are for a couple weeks once some of the tournaments have completed. If you have an explorer deck, you will still be able to rank up and complete dailies. They also are less affected by new sets coming out. Good Luck

This is an excellent deck. Great work. I was wondering if you have tested it with other B,W,U legendaries like for example Edgar, Ao, Henrika, Junji, Toluz, Kotose, Raven man, Dorothea? I had a version with Toluz (great synergy with raffine) and it did pretty good.

90% Rare Wildcards... A casual player MUST give real money (I am thinking more than 100euros [1/6th of monthly salary] for all the gems to buy boosters) if they want to play this. If someone doesn't have the time to play every day (meaning they do not get much value from the availablequests), or isn't a Draft champion, must spend everything on this.. Damn, I really loved the gameplay... :-(

It also gives you a zombie to sac vs liliana, whoich is pretty helpful + it also gives you a 2* connive with raffine without the risk of loosing anything valueable... Also maybe 1 or 2 Sorin for some card draw potential might be a good add and cut 1 rata and/or an ertai (or maybe sheoldred)? Did you ever ran in in to the problem of having too many compies of the same legendary? I mean I know you can kind of snowball them with ratadrabik at creating tons of copies, but sometimes you´re just not having him out and then 2 or 3 of the same legendary are really counterproductive ^^

Ratadrabik works with Token Legendary Token made by Jaxis And doubled by Kaya Time for magic Christmas land: Use [[Jaxis the Troublemaker]] to make copies of [[Ratadrabik of Urborg]] while under the effect of [[Kaya the Geist Hunter]]'s -2 Effect Blitz in Jaxis and use it's ability to make Ratadrabik token. Kaya makes two of them. Legendary Rule applies, the token die. And you get 4 trigger (the original and other copy see each other die) Each of the trigger will make 2 times of non legendary Ratadrabik token = 8 Now Jaxis dies at EoT, make each of the 1+8= 9 Ratadrabik trigger Which Kaya makes into 18 Jaxis token

Also, if Ratadrabik copies something like Henrika Domnathi, since the copy is a one-faced card, the transform part wouldn't work right? God I want to see this card with Teysa Karlov or token duplication effects so bad

The Adeline token should stay a 2/2, and you are correct that tokens dont have a back side so the token would be a front side of Henrika only.
