The fact is, the interactions between Showtime and BLK was nothing more than a “conversation.” And Espinoza explained why the conversation did not materialize into an offer that would bind a contract upon acceptance. To begin with, BLK wasn’t authorized to speak on behalf of Crawford. In other words, BLK was not Crawford’s agent. BLK did not have Crawford under contract. Showtime, in contrast, had Boots under contract. Finally, BLK offered no money to invest in the fight. In sum, the whole thing was just a waste of time.

Espinosa and Team Ennis turned it down, then he went to the IBF to activate his mandatory after Spence activated his mandatory rematch. They knew what they were doing and further messed up any shot they may have had of doing business eith Crawford. Anyone with sense and knowledge on the ins and outs of the game would have to ask if Ennis really wants the fight at all or if he was just clout chasing and doing everything he could to get a belt without having to fight Crawford
