I had been saying this as well that they needed to play Springer so he could gain some trade value. I think you hit the nail on the head with that one. But I feel like every time he touches the ball he hurts his trade value lol.

@mathewsousa391517 күн бұрын
I agree. With house Hurt we have no reliable wing depth. And when Prichard comes back down to reality, he can only provide so much. I love Prichard and I hope he continues to shoot 50 to 60% from three but when he is shooting his average 40% we need someone else on the bench to step up. Honestly, I would like to see them try to get MEEMY more involved with the offense. I feel like there’s times where I see him and he has his man sealed under the basket and they just don’t throw it to him, but he also could roll to the rim harder which he has been doing better to be available for labs. He should be a consistent lob threat when he is on the floor. That and I feel like. if they throw it to him in the post, he could get a bucket here and there. I know they want to shoot threes but when the whole team is involved it makes this team five times harder Tigard. But yeah, I feel like QUETA with reps could become decent. Not crazy good but a decent backup center.

@@ChrisB-xl4tqfolks already knew that once we traded for KP. His injury history is well known which makes it irrelevant. What Walker can do is that he can score and fits what we can do. Yeah, I’ve been keeping an eye on walker and he’s not doing that great in the euro league. He tries step back three pointers like every time. In an ideal world, he would just be taking catch and shoot threes on the Celtics, but he is a poor defender. If KP is key, we are screwed though. He cannot make it through a full playoff run healthy something will happen just based on his history and the numbers he is bound to get hurt. The playoffs are 10 times more physical.
@mathewsousa391517 күн бұрын
Also, the way it went down with the Celtics. I thought there was rumors that they tried to move Springer and there was no takers. They cut everyone else and kept Lonnie until the last second. I’m curious if they made some sort of agreement with him some sort of handshake deal and that’s where this new information is coming from a. They were interested in him last year too. I don’t think it’s a dire need but if Houser continues. Down this path, we might need someone to knock down a few three-pointers
@jamalsg44ja17 күн бұрын
Payton needs real help off the bench. Lonnie Walker can help with that. Sam still dealing that back injury on and off. Either way Celtics need another wing that can score. Yea you can trade for another player but it’s gotta for the budget for the roster to get that guy who fits the bill. Ultimately, the Celtics need to prioritize defense like they did last season and take care of the ball. The intensity needs to be picked up as January is the toughest month of their schedule. In Brad we trust.

Walker is the same age as the Jays. It sounds so good but when I watch him play, I don’t know if his place style can translate. Sorry for the comments I’ve just been watching him a lot in the euro league and he is either scorching hot or iced cold.
@ronlao190818 күн бұрын
It's a steep price to bring back Lonnie Walker. But nobody said winning is cheap. If the Cs are trading Springer, I would still say a Springer-Filipowski trade is ideal. Filipowski barely saw any action back in November so maybe Danny Ainge could do Brad Stevens a solid just like Kevin McHale did him one back in 2007-08 season. If the Cs can pull that off and then sign Walker, then the bench would be deeper for that banner 19 run this season.
@nicholasmaharaj549317 күн бұрын
Filipowski trade a solid idea

Walker was playing decent in the euro league but his last two games have been rough. He’s been decent. If you could get him on a minimum, I think it would be worth it. He is streaky, but that’s why you give him a minimum. If he hit all of his threes all the time he would be on a real contract. I his defense needs work, but on the team he is currently on he is being asked to do way more than the Celtics would ask. I would like to see more effort from him. On the defensive end, though. He has the athleticism he just doesn’t have the awareness for some reason. If you watch, she just stands in one spot on defense doesn’t watch ball and man just kind of hangs out.

Celtics can improves its game if: 1) Respect Jrue Holiday. He is best player when the game is importan. Jrue should be Celtics Playmaker not a small power forward 2) Players should be trained about capturing defensive rebounds, blocking not only opponents but also areas and open ways that opponents can use to catch rebounds 3)When opponents expand their defense to the 3 points line: Celtics needs to attack not the upper post position with KP. Should be the lower post position with KP. A second option is to have a very good dribbler player as Lonnie Walker making layups
@bjmcmahon72217 күн бұрын
Lonnie is still a bench addition. #KP and his health/effectiveness may be the key to 19.
@mathewsousa391517 күн бұрын
41% Just dropped because he went 0 for 9 . he is really streaky and I don’t like his shot selection sometimes. If he can learn the Celtic system and play the right way, I would take him on a minimum if you can get off of Springer for a second, but I don’t even know if I would want to give up a second round pick to get rid of Springer. His contract expires next year doesn’t it? And we need pics tough spot to be in with Houser, injured and invisible.

Bobby Marks On Lonnie Walker: “You're going to hear probably a lot about Lonnie Walker IV over the next five, six weeks here because he's got a buyout in his contract in Europe. I talked to his agent when I was driving up to Orlando and he's like, 'He's playing awesome.' For Europe, he's on a great streak as far as playing over there. So that's a name. He was in the Celtics' camp. They know him. He knows the system. He can come in, and without the expectations that he has to play. But it's a nice insurance policy for a guy that you can throw in a playoff game because he's been there before.”

Trade Queta and springer for a 3 point shooting Center that’s at least 7ft
@FinnM-j6j17 күн бұрын
No, as much as I would agree with that, we need a 7 footer to get our rebounds off of 3pt shots and give us more chances for our playmakers to make a 3!
A three-team trade involving the Jazz, Clippers, and Celtics: The Celtics send Jaden Springer and Xavier Tillman to either the Jazz or Clippers to acquire Walker Kessler. This move clears $6 million in cap space while taking on $3 million. The Celtics then sign Lonnie Walker for $2 million, effectively saving $1 million overall. The deal improves the roster by adding a better big man in Kessler and a more effective shot creator in Lonnie Walker. If you’re feeling really bold, include Kristaps Porziņģis in the deal. While I love what KP brings to the table, his injury history is concerning. Trading him as part of this deal could bring in Lauri Markkanen, providing a younger, more durable option who fits well with the team’s long-term plans.
@TheRobversion117 күн бұрын
You dont need to include the clippers in the deal. Straight up trade with the jazz works. springer, tillman/neemi and 2 1sts (ainge's asking price for kessler) for walker kessler and patty mills. If you really want lonnie, its the pistons that you need to include in the deal as the 3rd team as they are the only team with cap space. Mills gets re-routed to the pistons along with a 2nd rd pick from Boston to pay them to take his contract. That opens up a roster spot then they could go sign lonnie.
@HerbieRecato17 күн бұрын
Not possible bcoz of the new CBA. They are in the second apron and can’t aggregate. Only one on one and could not get a player in excess of Springer’s 4M.
@TheRobversion117 күн бұрын
@@HerbieRecato hes not getting anyone more expensive than springer. Springer>kessler In terms of contract. Hes also just dumping tillman on them to free up the roster spot. This is what makes the trade invalid as the jazz dont have an open roster spot to take tillman. Hes not aggregating any salary.
@HerbieRecato17 күн бұрын
@@TheRobversion1 Tillman is lower than Kessler, so it's not possible. Kessler for Springer is ok like what u said but no need to inlcude Tillman coz we still have one roster spot open. A future 2nd round draft pick might be included for the Springer-Kessler deal. Nonetheless, Im not sure if the Jazz will be okay with that deal. They prob trade Clarkson first than Kessler.
@TheRobversion117 күн бұрын
@HerbieRecato hes not trading tillman for kessler. Hes a throw-in to open a roster spot. Its really springer for kessler. You can ignore that 15th roster spot. Unless there'd a dire need, brad said, hes not touching that. Thats why Ethan is dumping tillman. To open the 14th roster spot. I already included 2 1sts in my iteration because that is ainge's asking price that no one has wanted to match. I have no problem with the Cs trading the 2025 1st and 2027 1st as i'd rather focus on winning now. I wouldnt mind adding another 2nd to that either but i doubt thats needed. They would be ok with that deal because thats literally ainge's asking price. Now, it might be brad who might not be ok with that. They will indeed trade clarkson 1st than kessler as they are really shopping clarkson. Kessler is just in rumors because he had a down year last season but is back to performing well again this season. The jazz though are ok to move from kessler as per rumors as they wanted a more mobile big.

The clock is ticking on the current version of the Celtics. The new Collective Bargaining Agreement rules and Boston entering the Repeater luxury tax brackets starting next season will bring an abrupt end to this current Celtics dynasty. The Celtics have paid the luxury tax last two seasons and will pay again at the end of this season. Paying the luxury tax 3 straight season will trigger the Repeat offender luxury tax penalty which will be due to be paid at the end of next year the 2025-2026 season. Currently for the 2025-26 season the Celtics have a total committed salary of $225,514,138 for only 11 players. Next year the Celtics will have to fill out the remaining 4 roster spots and be hamstringed in doing so by the fact they are going to be a perpetual Second Apron team going forward. The only moves a second apron team can make to improve their team are the following: they can resign their own free agents; they can sign their own draft picks, and they can sign new players to only the veteran minimum salary. That's it. They can't sign free agents with a Mid-Level exception or Biannual exception. If they make a trade, they can't take back more than 100% salary matching in the trade. They also can't combine multiple outgoing salaries in any trade. In other words, the only trade they can make is where the Celtics are sending out one player and bringing back one or more players where the combined incoming salary is less than the one outgoing players salary. Also, because they are above the first apron they are not allowed to sign a buyout player that was being paid more than the 12.9-million-dollar non-taxpayer mid-level exception this season prior to being bought out. As I said earlier, the Celtics have $225,514,138 committed to 11 players next year. I imagine they will resign Horford (if he doesn't rupture one of his 38-year-old Achilles tendons before then) to another one-year deal. They'll have a late first round pick in 2025 that they will sign, and they will either resign Jaden Springer or let him go and sign someone else to a vet min deal. Their 15th roster spot will probably remain open until Feb or March 2026 when they sign a buyout player. I project that the total cost for their player roster for the 2025-26 season will be approximately $241,000,000 (if they bring back Horford). I did the math on this payroll number using this year's Repeater luxury tax brackets and came up with a tax bill for next season of $263,000,000. Add that tax penalty to their players' salaries and it comes out to $504,000,000 dollars total cost to put their team on the court next year 2025-26. Yes, that was over a half BILLION with a B! Keep in mind that current Celtics majority owner Wyc Grousbeck only has a total net worth of about $400,000,000. Maybe this is why he's looking to sell the team. The Celtics have additional minority owners but in business the majority owner typically pays a majority of the expense. In the present-day NBA, you just can't pay two players on the same team 300-million-dollar contracts like Tatum and Brown are going to be getting. The Celtics will be forced to bust the team up sooner rather than later. Perhaps as early as summer 2025 if they don't win a Championship this season. This is all simple mathematics.
