I was in elementary school when the Boston garden was torn down , i was on the school bus every day seeing the demolition progress each time my bus got off 95 and went to Charleston, i saw the inside had tons of seats . I had no idea of its history back then, and what it was. I wished i took a souvenir or a brick and kept it.

Fun fact, it’s actually not a 160m dollar nba arena as the NBAs Boston Celtics are tenants meaning the Celtics rent it and do not own it
@Jake_Broer8 күн бұрын
I was just gonna say this. The Bruins own the Garden. Fun fact: the Celtics demanded that the Bruins get rid of the gold seats that they had for decades, so that the arena was more neutral for both teams and so the empty seats didn't pop out on tv.

@@Jake_Broeri miss the yellow seats, it gave the garden some character.
@robertng135Күн бұрын
That’s why the Celtics are going to be very difficult to sell. Who the heck wants to own an nba team with no arena??
@bcoates87Күн бұрын
@@robertng135 The Celts are valued at around $4.75 bil, they won't have any trouble finding a new owner. It remains to be seen whether the new owner will be as well-liked as Wyc tho.

Celtics need new owners and arena

The biggest competitive advantage the Celtics lost was the fact that the old Gahden had no air conditioning. Ask the 1983-84 Lakers about that impact.

TD Garden reminds me of Madison Square Garden aka MSG in New York since has a train station right top of the arena and New York’s Penn station right on top of the Garden on basement level.

The Bruins didn't win the Cup in Boston, theh won in Vancouver. The Celtics won their 2 21st Century rings in Boston though

The Celtics don't own this arena.. Delaware North (Bruins) do.

Ehh nba is definitely better then hockey though

They may be renting, but the Celtics currently look more like owners than the Bruins.
@danhardhat25 күн бұрын
4:47 The AI thinks TD Bank owns it...TD only has the naming rights through 2045. The Jacobs family and their corporate front Delaware North own the facility, and the Bruins.

Boston's arena name on the wall outside of the facade has changed numerous times (sign companies love making money). LOL. - Shawmut National Corporation Center - Fleet Financial Corporation Center (FleetBoston Corporation Center) - Toronto Dominion USA, Inc./Banknorth Group, Inc. Center - Toronto Dominion Bank Group USA Garden 🤷♂️🤦♂️

Considering Toronto and Chicago built arenas at the same time and have to spend 100 million more, but they're also much larger.
