I'm just happy knowing that 30 years from now, a lot of not only those kids in the locker room, but the people on the campus in every part of it and in that town are going to look back on these days and have them in their top 5 memories of their entire life. Prime is truly showing the way forward not only in sports but in life. Businesses are booming, academics are up, people are marketing themselves and learning how to do it better, those are blessings that will effect their lives and their families going forward. It's the golden age right now in Boulder. Get yourself a cut.

@@spiceedre8017 If I wanted to knock the man I could do so. There's plenty to knock. I'm not mad at Deion doing his thing. I just hate the way some Black folks act like his success is also our success. That's an old game white supremacy plays on us. We're supposed to feel like some Black celebrity getting richer makes things better for Blacks as whole. That is utter bullshit. We've had many successful Black football coaches, yet the NFL and colleges still rarely hire Black men to coach their teams. Deion's success is HIS ALONE. Not yours or mine. That's all I'm saying.

It’s because what he is doing they have never seen before, and it’s on his own terms. I can’t think of a great athlete that’s ever been a great coach. They are fine as long as you’re only a great foot soldier, but never can you be the one in command of an army (metaphorically speaking). And the “God” part they do not understand and it’s uncomfortable to them. They are use to you having to hate and cheat to get to the top. If only more people saw the value in having that relationship with Jesus Christ, they to would be able to fathom the unfathomable when you truly put God first.

It’s a shock to them since in their warped mind, only people like the old guards can succeed as a coach. Others are not surprised and why would they be. Many of the same coaches in the old guard just get rotated from school to school and no track record with the kids or rapport. NIL and transfer portal is their kryptonite. An unstoppable force cannot be contained. Deion may not be as successful but there will be others. Yes there will be others.

I love Louis Riddick. He communicates so well, but you can feel a level of humility in the way he articulates. I judge a broadcaster on whether or not I can find out their underlying bias as the broadcast a game. On Saturday night I loved that he was just as knowledgeable about Colorado State as much as he was Colorado. He didn't show a bias toward Deion or Colorado state even though one might assume that's who he's rooting for. He's the real deal.

Facts. But hopefully tbey can follow his lead and break some of the negative stigma that some may feel. That at times can be self inflicting. If he can help break the stereotype tht some have of black and tht some blacs have on themselves, this may open doors and build a better community. He is challenging the youth and the older ones and leading by example. Like you said they cannot mimic it. But may be able to relish some of the greatness. And even a little is better than what we have.

Louis knows darn well what the answer/reason as to "WHY" Deion gets doubted and the pushback he's getting. Heck, it's not uncommon for Deion or many other black men who don't capitulate to white fragility. He's an unapologetic black man that doesn't just tuck his blackness in and play the role they've scripted for him. There are many (on a much smaller scale) Deion's out there; some have far less achievements and credentials and some have as many in their chosen fields. Some are on their way up, building on their resumes. What Deion is and has always represented is, you can be kool with a k and also have substance behind it, as long as you put the work in. The cultural messaging that accompanies a society that sees/views Caucasians/Whites as the majority will always produce this underlying issue. Even though he's playing by the rules, in many ways, Deion is "bucking the system." As a lifelong fan of Deion, I'm routing for him, his kids, the University of Colorado Football program, the Athletic Director and Board that believed in him enough to take a chance on him, student body, and community out there in Boulder showing support. The revolution will not be televised...Oops, but it is, in reocord breaking numbers. Let's Go Buffs 😎.

Obviously a lot of the assumptions (about Prime being not suited or serious enough for coaching) do have to do with race and how or culture has changed/stayed the same in past 30 years. on one hand, he had a bold way of marketing his "brand"..before FB,KZbin, Insta, tiktok - before "building your personal brand" was a thing. (Note the closest comparison of a white athlete i can think of was Joe Namath) The presumption was that by being "flashy" Sanders was more style than substance, and this definitely parallels a long-time prejudice White America had about Black Americans. The trope was expressed this way: "you can't talk/act so Black if you want to be taken seriously. Obviously, one's mannerisms, bravado, speaking style, etc.etc have zero to do with intellect or work ethic. Still today, it's a prejudice that lingers amongst some...but every day Prime (among others) help eradicate it by succeeding in all aspects of life-*his way.

Deion himself doesn’t bother people it’s the constant dickriding the media & fans do that annoy people. Y’all mfs are acting like he’s the first black head coach to ever start a season 3-0 like it’s okay to be excited and happy and the turnaround but idk maybe just relax a tad? 😂

I don’t know how old you are but people have been fans of Deion for 35 years and are just as excited for everything he does. Nobody is acting like he’s the first anything. They act like he’s a hall of famer and arguably the greatest athlete in modern history. The best corner and arguably best defender and hit 500 in a World Series. He hit a home run and returned a kick the same week. He’s been polarizing you must’ve missed it.

He’s the fourth to do it after a 1-11 season ever…. Black or white. Big time

Awful fans are what drives people to dislike teams. I'm an Auburn fan and I've always liked Coach Saban and lots of Alabama players, I just can't stand their fans.

You talk about people " dickriding " Deion, but you're here in the comment section, leaving paragraphs about him. Who's really the " dickrider "??🤷🏿‍♂️
