Yelawolf is a genius and an amazing rapper, also a great guy in general, I met him when he first got signed to Shady Records. On this interview it is pretty awkward I can't lie but I mean the people from ESPN didn't make it interesting in anyway. They ask him very simple questions like what are you expecting as an answer? I felt like they didn't even have a plan before interviewing him and just went head first. When you ask someone about their addiction and how its bad and they should stop, obviously it won't be that kind of interview with laughter and happiness but I feel like Yela didn't want to open up too much to these guys and they just kept asking simple questions without even thinking in a way. Yela is awesome and a great rapper, y'all should listen to Love Story

Damn, I was cringing the entire interview. It's unfortunate that LeBatard and Bomani Jones were interviewing him, as they hardly ever do any research on whoever they interview and create awkward moments all the time because of their terrible questions. Why not ask about the actual MUSIC he creates? They are the absolute worst on ESPN, and as a result, this will undoubtedly damage his reputation in a myriad of ways. I was once close with Yelawolf. He lived in my backyard studio in Marietta for over a year and played keys for him back in his Arena Rap days. I have always looked up to him as a musician and still do, but to be honest with you, the guy lacks true loyalty and compassion for others after he can no longer benefit from them. I know this personally... Having said that, as a naive teenager, I wanted to be like him because he is admittedly very charismatic and infectious when you get to know him... and I also wanted to hang with him drink for drink. Thats when I began to drink heavily and before I knew it, I was also a functioning alcoholic, and I still struggle with it every single day. It's a serious issue and am very empathetic for others who also struggle with addiction. Look, he is definitely not a role model, but hell, atleast he admits it. I still wish him the best though because after all... as LBJ would say... who am I to hold a grudge?
@voteZDLR9 жыл бұрын
***** I don't see him as being a badass at all, I think more than anything else he's trying to make up for Radioactive by being as "artistic" as he possibly can. Like, F.A.S.T Ride and songs like that, rocking the logger beard and looking like, borderline homeless. Laying it on a bit too thick for most heads. He even said it himself that Radioactive was literally jam-packed with song after song that could've been used on the radio. It was garbage, he knew it. I think that being his debut was the biggest thing that hurt his career. His affiliation with Eminem wasn't even enough to save him from something like that.

i love how the interviewers don't even give him an out when he says he loves being an alcoholic, and then the interview is tied to "What was your childhood like?" and "Say more about being the adult regarding taking care of mother when you were 10". I appreciate Yelawolf's honesty, 'cause that's where he was at. It felt like seeds towards change were planted from this interview.

You can do it! I'm a week and a half into getting off it myself. Self-assigned goals are some of the hardest to stick to, with the consequences not always very obvious. But I'm trying to get a handle on it because... I want to show myself that I have discipline and that I can still achieve what I want to in life. I don't want to get older and have regret later in life, that I didn't reach my potential and achieve what I think I could. I think one thing that's helped me this time around is saying that "I'm off weed" rather than "I quit weed" (thinking "forever" would be heavier mentally). Some things are just better moderation. Once I've been off for 5-12 weeks, I may revisit it, but there'd be a big difference between smoking multiple joints a day, every day as a habit, versus having a joint or two per week on the weekend. Good luck! ❤
