The issue is fans are impressionable so they parrot what they hear without using common sense. There's a difference between load management and injury management. The days of guys playing at 75% is over in large part because of the way fans and media consume and cover the game. Guy goes out there and plays on one leg, media calls him washed. LeBron started planning to build a superteam with Wade and Carmelo all the way back in 2006 when there were no superteams in existence. Back then all three were at the top of their games and Bron encouraged the other two guys to take shorter term deals so they could all play together down the road. It speaks to LeBron's lack of competitive drive. That Miami Big Three was actually supposed to be Bron, Wade and Carmelo, but Melo opted to take more money with the Knicks instead, so they 'settled' for Chris Bosh. Imagine three of the top 5 draft picks playing together on the same team. My point is, that superteam would have still been formed if there were no Celtics' Big Three, as the wheels were in motion way before the Celtic's Big Three was even thought of. Had everything gone as planned and Wade had not gotten hurt, that original Big Three probably could have rattled off three or four championships in a row, if not more. All KD did was join a team in free agency. When the Warriors won the title in 2015, all LeBron fans said was that Cavs would have won if Kevin love and Kyrie were healthy. LeBron fans said Steph was nowhere as good as LeBron. The only thing that changed in 2016 is that GS overacheived by winning 73 regular season games. But that was still basically the same team from the year before. Or at least the same core, that LeBron fans were ridiculing. And GS folding in the 2016 Finals kind of proved LeBron fans right, that Bron and the Cavs were just better. KD joining that team the following shouldn't have made them unbeatable, if there was so much room for improvement for the Warriors anyway.
