Do not underestimate the value of her growing up with a competitive older brother. Caitlin is TOUGH AS NAILS because she grew up competing against naturally stronger guys. @@Dinky-gu3fibird also had no college ring because he lost to Magic but that lead to the biggest rivalry in NBA history and saved the NBA and both Magic and Bird are two of the all time greats. The only reason why both Bird and Caitlin didn’t win a championship is because basketball is a team sport and it matters who your teammates are and the simple fact that both were the single top tier players on their team that carried their teams to the finals and for Caitlin two years in a row shows just how good of a player she is. They played teams that were stacked with all American players built to win championships like UConn and SC plus when it comes to Caitlin they play back to back with no time for rest then add in all the media that she has to do because of the demand while the other teams got to rest their players then they also played the later game and have a deeper bench that allowed for their players to be switched out where as for Iowa their entire team played the whole game for all games throughout the tournament. If they gave them more time before the final game there could have easily been a different outcome because look at how they were able to win against LSU this year and even beat SC last year because they played them earlier in the tournament. Plus you only have to look at the many top players like LeBron, Jordan, Curry, etc. and how many years they were in before they even won a Championship. There isn’t a single player that just joined the NBA that I can think of with all the hype and went on to win championships nonstop. Basketball is more then just one player it’s about the team around them and how they make the players around them play better. How they revolutionize the game, etc. which is why what Caitlin has done for women’s basketball and how she does play like Curry and does make the players on her team better players makes her one of the top players if not the goat of women’s basketball. Only time will tell in the end on how many championships she will end up with but I don’t doubt she will be seeing quite a few in her future.

IT'S ABOUT TIME you people (ESPN) started to acknowledge and support the WNBA by supporting the story of Caitlin Elizabeth Clark and how her work ethic, drive and competitive spirit has had such an impact on the league! If you subtract the Indiana Fever from all of games played in last season attendance in the WNBA you can get an idea of what the normal WNBA attendance would have been had Clark not graced her presence on the scene. As much as the Old Guard doesn't want to admit it, the singular reason for the incredible uptick of the WNBA last season was, indeed because of one generational, talent that is as close to being "pure basketball" as the WNBA will ever see! She is humble, always lifts up her team members before herself, never has anything negative to say, even about those that , for some reason, hate her, does not chase records or accolades but is focused solely on wining and working to become the best basketball player that she is capable of being! She avoids "drama", rises above all of the negativity that she has been subjected to. She is relentless, impossible to intimidate, does not retaliate, stays focused and displays the strongest character that I have seen in any sport for a long, long time! Caitlin is 'The Unicorn" of the WNBA but most of the older players are so narrow minded, jealous, arrogant and narcissistic that they would rather embrace the mediocracy of the past instead of supporting this CASH COW that will benefit them all! Caitlin Clark is the truth!

Stewart matriculated to an institution with a long established history of national success, including 13 final four appearances and 7 national championships before her arrival. She then had the opportunity to play for this legendary program along side other 5-star recruits and future pros like Morgan Tuck and Moriah Jefferson. In light of these facts, one would hope for a bit more humility when speaking of an athlete who went to an in-state school that had only made one Final Four prior to her arrival and led them to two national championship finals during her tenure. As much as Clark's remarkable achievements may have helped grow the game, Stewart's self-serving berating of Clark's success does just the opposite! I recommend that everyone grab an oar and row together if you wish to build on the success of the past season borne in large part by Clark's stellar performance and leadership. If you need an example of what that would look like, watch Dawn Staley's post-game remarks about Clark following South Carolina's national championship win over Iowa.
