Not only does he have the highest vertical in the league, but because he weighs like 180 lbs, gravity doesn’t pull him back down once he’s in the air as fast as bigger players who do the same dunks. This lets him do things like change hands, shift his body mid air, and essentially hang in the air to delay his dunk. That way the guy blocking him starts to fall before he does, allowing him to slam it on his head.

My prediction, post all star break the Griz take the 2nd seed and really start to put on while simultaneously Ja has like a string of maybe 3 out of 4 games scoring 40 for example. Some signature stretch of games to put him on, all he needs. And people are gonna have to concede. Rn it’s realistically Joker, Joel/Giannis, Ja in that order. Giannis and Joker are borderline 6 seeds it would be crazy to give it to them and Joel might not be able to keep this up, already slowing down potentially in the Laker game. I really do think Ja can pull it off but right now let’s just wait and see. He’s got work to do🐻

Ja is definitely more athletic since no one could shift like Morant does and then suddenly accelerate and he is by far the better “long jumper”. Ja has the highest vert between the three of them too (Russ has a 40 not a 36 btw and Rose has a reported 42-43). Russ and Drose are more explosive which is partly because they are bigger than Ja. PJPerformace also talked about Ja as well in his top 5 most athletic nba players list. Fun fact: Ja Morant has made more dunks in the past 120 games than Drose has ever did throughout his WHOLE CAREER! He averages more dunks per season than Westbrook too.
