They were pretty deep on their side so I get why they didn’t go for it but you are right that’s an easy qb sneak. I knew they were gonna lose when they didn’t start Fields in the 2nd half. Russ was throwing the ball off balance all game if he was going to throw like an inexperienced toddler I’d rather have the younger and faster guy who can scramble for a couple extra yards.

Ain’t nobody stopping Baltimore. Only they can stop themselves. Is too much to stop DH and LJ consistently now that LJ is also carving defenses like Thanksgiving. Baltimore gets in trouble when they try to be too cute and/or when they get behind the sticks in 2nd/3rd and long. Besides that, the playbook is too open and if it’s 2nd/3rd and short, you don’t know what’s coming as a defense.

The problem is that the quarterback is not good enough. Russell Wilson is limited. He throws a beautiful deep ball, but he lacks mobility at this point and cannot throw to the middle of the field. Well enough at this point they should keep fields, cut Wilson, and draft a quarterback, and hope to get lucky. They really need to get a talented quarterbacks coach in right now to get ahead of this.

@BRockin25 He hasn't had the talent. You're right, but a lot of that falls on him. He has constantly stated that defense and running the ball win Championships. Yet the current teams that are better than the Steelers build around passing first. Everything else is secondary. If you listen to Paul Zeise Tim Benz and the other local guys they are saying the current Rooney is disinterested from running this team like his father and allows Tomlin to pretty much do what he wants. Like Tomlin hires his buddies as coaches because he can't have anyone in the room smarter than him. That's why Flores left. He was a threat

@ I don’t know how the Steelers make personnel decisions, but I believe you. Their offense is toothless. I’d take GM-level decision making away from Tomlin before firing him. The Steelers sign tough players for the most part, but they have lacked talent for a long time. Harbaugh is actually similar, he loved picking mediocre players who were tough and coaches pets. The Ravens drafting Lamar changed things and they have focused on building around him vs building around Harbaughs ego.

It’s easier to give credit to the glamour positions (i.e., QB’s, TE’, WR’s, RB’s), but what was clear is #70 made a name for himself last night. That kid went blow-for-blow against a future first selection HoF player. IMO, he outperformed Watts in a stunning fashion. As a matter of fact, the Ravens entire O-Line outdueled the Steelers defensive front. With that being said, it was impressive to see what that rookie accomplished in front of a national stage. Kudos to #70.

The Steelers best bet at this point is to get rid of the entire coaching staff & bring in new guys. I guess they can keep the GM since he is relatively new. They have to clean house. It will be the same result every season & they will lose fans if they don’t.

Steelers problem is offensive line and receivers. Everyone wants to blame Russ but Russ doesn’t turn the ball over and always completes a large percentage of his passes. Russ is a great locker room leader. Fields is a good backup qb. As a Steelers fan, I hope both return.

@@azmohammed83I mean, the Patriots fired Bill Belichick who won 6 Superbowls for the Pats... So, what's stopping the Steelers from doing the same. Now sure, Tomlin has been good at taking below average teams to the playoffs, but what he hasn't been good at is being consistent in December and January. I mean, we haven't won a single playoff game in almost an entire decade. And, in that span of time, every team in the AFC North, and yes... Including the Browns has at least one playoff win or more. That's really bad man.

Ravens fan here: I was pretty impressed with the Steelers this year, given the last-minute patch they applied to the QB position - a lot of people had them missing the playoffs entirely. Until the late- season skid, I thought Tomlin would be a lock for Coach of the Year. Unless you're Green Bay, you wouldn't expect to have back-to-back Hall of Famers at QB, so he seemed to make lemonade out of lemons (he sure knew how to beat the Ravens until recently).

Because he's pathetic. He's not a good quarterback. It's his style. Michael Vick was the OG of the dual threat quarterback. The first person to actually make use of it fully was Russell Wilson. People are were used to that style. He also had a run game in Marshawn Lynch, and the legion of boom (legendary defense) to bail him out The two years the Seahawks were good. It would disgrace the Hall of Fame to make him a Hall of famer.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now gone eight straight seasons without a playoff win. For context, Chuck Noll never went more than four years without a postseason victory and Bill Cowher never went more than three. To build on that, only three coaches in the Super Bowl era have gone eight straight years without a playoff win with the same team - Marvin Lewis, Jim Mora, and Mike Tomlin. That is what the Steelers have become. It's more than time to make a change.
